Be Faithful in All Things

Luke 16:10(NLT)
If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.
Faithfulness is the conviction of unfailingly remaining loyal to someone or something, and putting that loyalty into unwavering practice regardless of the circumstances. To be faithful then means, being strict or thorough in the performance of one’s duty, being true to one’s word or being steady in allegiance, loyalty and affection. It has been confirmed that faithfulness provokes the blessing of God. A faithful man does not beg to be blessed because to be faithful is to be blessed. One who is faithful over few things becomes the lord of many things. God gives the faithful the privilege of handling greater things. The story of the wasteful steward in the above Scripture reveals to us the power of faithfulness. Faithfulness makes us to be accountable to God and man. A faithful man is an asset to God and only the faithful ever becomes fruitful in the Kingdom because faithfulness is what births fruitfulness (Proverbs 28:20).
God is Faithful, His Faithfulness never ends and He wants His Children to be faithful as well. It is written in 1 Corinthians 4:2 “Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.” The Holy Spirit notifies us of God’s requirement to be faithful. There is always a reward for being faithful. It guarantees us a fulfilling future and raises us above limitations. When we are unfaithful in a small matter, and of little worth, we generally do the same, if a greater trust is committed to us. Before God sends us on a major mission or pour His mighty blessings in our hands, He gives us the opportunity to prove we can be trusted with the little. However, many have missed the opportunity of being faithful in the little. A lot of people think it impossible to live a life of faithfulness, and for this reason, unfaithfulness has become a norm in today’s world. For instance, if someone pays his tithes faithfully, despite having little, he has committed God to move him to abundance. When we spend our tithes with the excuse of being poor, we become stranded in life. No excuse is tenable for disobedience in the Kingdom. It is ignorance that makes a child of God to think that he or she can spend just two out of the required eight hours at work, and then expect commendation by the God of Justice. If our hearts lift up in pride for that little success, how do we think it will be if God promote us, the way we are, to the level of holding billions? The truth is God cannot commit His vision to unfaithful men, as they would only squander it, and destroy themselves in the process, and God cares too much for His people and His vision. Some people were better Christians when they were jobless or did not have money. They would not miss church services; they would even come to church on non-service days. But when God blessed them with a job or small money, they start to give excuses for not serving God or coming to church. Very pathetic!
Beloved, the greatest thing that can be said about you at the end of age is: “Great and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Lord.” Make up your mind to be faithful in all you do at all time, whether it is for God or for man. Today, start obeying God in the little things. Let Him see that He can trust you out there in a place of much authority. Let Him know you’ll be faithful to His Words and to the voice of His Spirit. God’s requirement of your faithfulness in stewardship applies to every area of your life. My prayer is that the Almighty God will open your eyes to see the different areas of life you are lacking in faithfulness, and grant you grace to live faithfully in all areas. Through your faithfulness, unbelievers will see the light and glorify your Father who is in Heaven.
O Lord, through Your Spirit, help me to be faithful in life as a steward in Jesus’ Name.
