Choose Life and Blessings

Deuteronomy 30:19(KJV)
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
In our anchored Scripture, Moses challenged the people to accept the life and blessings that the Lord offers. He gave us life with abundant blessings. It was a choice that they needed to make, either God’s Way or the way of death. When God created man in His own image, He created us with a free will which enables us to make choices in life. God has given us free choice and His Wisdom is available to help us make choices that will produce a life we can be proud of and enjoy. Therefore, it is our choice that settles our destiny. For every choice we make, there is a reward or a consequence.

On our journey through life, we face many choices about which road to travel. Many pathways seem promising and attractive but only one is the pathway of life. For every choice made, there is always an alternative forgone. This is why it is important to make the right choice in life. It is unfortunate that some so-called Christians don’t have an alternative forgone. They want to have their cake and eat it at the same time. They want to be in Christ and at the same time be in the world. 1 John 2:15-17 means nothing to them. As long as you are alive, you will be confronted with making choices. It might be the choice of a career, the business to run, the partner to marry, a call to fulfil, the location to dwell in or the God to serve. Jeremiah 21:8 says “And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.” One of the most critical choices to make in life is the choice between life and death. You need to take responsibility for your life by making choices that will make you live. This choice determines the kind of life you will live on earth and where you will spend eternity.

Beloved, what choice will you make today? Choosing to serve God is the greatest decision because the consequence goes beyond this world. Jesus in John 12:26 said “If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honor.” No one can switch over to the destination of a master he or she did not serve while here on earth. The servants of Jesus would be with Him in Glory whiles the servants of satan will gnash their teeth in the lake of hell fire. Joshua 24:15 says “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Decide to serve God through His Son Jesus Christ today for He is The Way, The Truth and The Life. Just commit your way to Jesus and He’ll deliver you from whatever may be holding you captive. Ask God for wisdom to make the right choices and the courage to trust and obey Him in all things.

O Lord, thank You for Your Word, I choose to serve You alone in Jesus’ Name.
