Don’t Forget His Benefits!

Psalm 103:1-2(KJV)
Bless the LORD, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:
It has been established that praising God and giving Him thanks pleases Him better than sacrificing cattle or presenting a bull with its horns and hooves. Praising God is the highest level of gift we can give to Him. It should be our daily desire to praise God! For us to praise Him, we can start by remembering all the good things. David, in Psalm 103, listed several of them, but the list is endless. It is confirmed that every good and perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. For when we were dead in our sins and in the uncircumcision of our flesh, God made us alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; He has taken it away, nailing it to the cross! And through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is His faithfulness. In addition, God gives us richly all things to enjoy. For His Divine Power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue. And we know those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
As disciples of Christ, with the Holy Spirit in us, we must reflect on His benefits daily, and praise Him. We are challenged never to forget all His benefits. To forget God’s benefits is to provoke Him to anger. If we forget His benefits, He forgets our welfare and our needs remain. If we cannot see what He has done, we stop Him from doing anything more. In other words when we forget God’s benefits, it makes God forget our needs. The fact is when we refuse to praise God, we shortchange ourselves and prolong our problems. However, as we praise God for His Mercies and Blessings, we can be sure that He will arise and do more in our lives. When we praise God in spite of how we feel or what we are going through, we declare our dependency on Him and acknowledge that we are not in control of our lives. As a result, we receive peace and strength in place of worries and burdens. What we do to Him determines what He does to us, for whatsoever a man sows, that will he reap. Let us praise Him! To God be the glory and the honor and the power for ever and ever!
Beloved, like David, make a firm commitment to never forget God’s benefits in your life. Make up your mind to offer praises to God on a daily basis, irrespective of the situation you are passing through or how you feel. Let praising God become your lifestyle from today. Let your worship and reverence for God not dwindle. Be determined to be committed more than ever before because God is more than able to bring His Word to pass in your life, with Him all things are possible. Live in appreciation to God daily and always take stock of God’s blessings and goodness. In all you do, never forget to praise God. Never count your loses, rather count your blessings naming them one by one. Remember, praising God for what He did before is the qualification for what He will do again in your life. As you praise God effortlessly from now on, the earth shall release to you all that belongs to you in Jesus’ Name.
O Lord, thank You for the gift of life, all the daily benefits and the forgiveness of sin, You alone deserves all the praise and glory in Jesus’ Name.
