That I May Know Him

Philippians 3:10(KJV)
That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
The knowledge of God is the greatest of all knowledge and is critical to the fulfilment of life and destiny. The more a man knows of God, the more he desires to know Him. After years of walking with the Lord, Paul still wrote “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;” Paul prayed to have a deeper revelation of who Jesus Christ is, he was determined to spend time in His Presence just to know Him personally for he understood that knowing God is a continuous process. 2 Peter 1:3 says “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue.” To enjoy the fullness of the divine nature we possess as Christians and to finish our race here on earth, we need to have an intimate and personal relationship with the Master.
Knowing God causes us to become more sensitive to the love He wants to demonstrate to us and to others through us. It is written in Exodus 33:13 “Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.” As we read over Moses’ prayer today, we understand why God used him to do great exploits. Moses in humility and a man filled with passion for God asked God to continue revealing His Ways. If anyone had first-hand experience of watching God work, it was Moses. Moses had seen God do some amazing miracles, yet he wanted to know God more. Moses had an incredibly intimate knowledge of God, he knew more of God than any man, yet he prays, “please show me your ways.” If Moses realized he had not arrived, then there’s a good chance we have not either. Moses and Paul knew the importance of knowing the true God. Throughout Scriptures and history, the best leaders are those who place themselves as life-long learners. Solid spiritual leaders continuously lead out of the overflow of what God is teaching them. As we pray, there should be a sense of humility in our prayers for a guidance only God can give. Many know God is Powerful but they do not know Him personally. However, know God personally and our lives will never be the same. He is God of all and reveals each side to any man per time. To Abraham, God was the Provider(Jehovah Jireh). To Moses, God revealed Himself as the ‘I Am That I Am’.
Beloved, the most important thing is to walk with God, to live for God, and to have one consuming passion to please Him always. Learn from Moses and Paul today, desiring to know Him for yourself. As you spend time with God, you will know Him and hear His Voice as clearly and as intimately as you want to. Make the study of God’s Word a conscious and consistent habit in your life. Run the Christian race with a mind-set that is never complacent, always desiring to know God. The more you know Him, the stronger you will become. The more you know Him, the better you will be able to face the challenges of life and stand tall in the midst of problems. The more of Him you know, the more of His Peace you will have in your heart. To know Christ is to know victory, and it is to know the resurrection, the truth and the life. Come to Him in humility today if you really want to know Him, as He invites you to come and learn of Him and He will give you a personal revelation of who He really is. Let Jesus remain your Master-builder and allow Him work on you until you see Him in glory. May you find GRACE in the sight of God this day, so you might know Him more in Jesus’ Name.
O Lord, give me the passion and the desire to seek and know You more, I am available as instrument in Your Hands in Jesus’ Name.
