The Word of God Give Us Hope!

Romans 15:4(KJV)

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
The Word of God was written to teach and feed us through the numerous Promises of God found in Scripture. In the Word of God, one can be comforted because of the hope it brings to the believer. When we read it and acknowledge the Promises therein, we receive comfort in times of affliction, persecution and discouragement. God speaks to us through His Word to regulate our lives so that we can enjoy His manifold blessings. The Divine Presence of the Great Shepherd strengthens His sheep through His Word, so much so that they entertain no fear. The Word of God inspires real soothing comfort and hope where there seems to be no hope. It is only in its pages that we find the clear and unmistakable message upon which all true Christianity is based. It is written in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works”
Apostle Paul, by the enlightening Spirit of God, told the Christians in Rome that what had been delivered to them had a purpose and a more noble use in their lives as believers. As demonstrated by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, He used the Word to defeat satan when He was tempted in the wilderness. Like the saints of old, we are expected to build our confidence on the sure promises of God. King David in his affliction said in Psalm 121:2, “My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth” thereby revealing the source of his confidence. God also promises His children never to leave or forsake them. Bible says that even in the face of evil threats, we should not become fearful but remain confident, knowing that God will never fail us. The written Word is the sword of the Spirit we can always use to overcome trials and temptations. Because of this sure Promise of God which can never fail, we shall say with confidence that the Lord is our Helper, a sure and dependable help in times of trouble. God is not a man, that He should lie, His Promises are sure and tested! He will fulfil every one of His Promises concerning our lives in this season and beyond. If God be for us, who can be against us? Who is he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good? As children of God no weapon formed against us shall prosper. Our confidence rests absolutely upon the Promises of God. God will always be there for us as a reliable Father and Friend against all evil attacks in Jesus’ Name.
Beloved, meditating on the Word of God will encourage and strengthen you, knowing that with God all things are possible. As you continue to read your Bible you learn to be more patient as you wait on the Promises of God for your life to manifest. Therefore, read the Word and approach it not just for knowledge and purpose of ministry but as a source of comfort, solace, encouragement and hope in the midst of this trouble-filled world. God’s Word is there to give every believer comfort and hope in all situations of life. Are you feeling hopeless or in need of comfort? Reach out for God’s word and your life will never be the same. As you read the Word of God, you will clear your mind of needless thoughts and fear. When His message comes to you, there is but only one thing to do, just obey. Today, do everything to remain His sheep for Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. Remain within His Fold and shun every temptation to do evil.

O Lord, thank You for Your Word that teaches me patience and gives me Hope in Jesus’ Name.
