A New Life In Christ

2 Corinthians 5:17(KJV)

Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

God’s Word teaches us that when we receive Christ as our Lord and Savior, He gives us a new nature. He gives us His character. For instance, can a butterfly return to a cocoon after it’s come out as a caterpillar? Of course not. It can’t happen. Once the caterpillar becomes a butterfly, it is a new creature and no longer a cocoon. Likewise, when we are born again, we’re like that butterfly – we come out of our cocoon and become a new creation in Christ. The Word of God tells us that every believer is a new creation and a child of God. Being born again means becoming a new person. It is a mystery. Old things have passed away, and all things have become new. The unique birth experience affects our entire lifestyle and the totality of our conduct. It must be evident to all around us. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says, “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” We are new creations, and God is taking us from one degree of Christ’s glory to another. We are one with Christ, and God makes us more and more like Him daily.

The character of this new man uproots every root of bitterness, anger, wrath, envy, hatred, and the likes out of our lives. The redeemed become a new man serving a new Master, Jesus Christ, having parted ways with satan; we, after that, live to please God and Him alone. Galatians 2:20 says: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” When we made Jesus our Lord and Savior, we became one with Him in the Spirit, cutting off all links that can lead to old sinful habits and developing a hatred for sins we committed before. The Bible says in Romans 6:14, “Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God’s grace.” The new life in Christ is beautiful, refreshing, fulfilling, and not comparable with anything else. 1 Peter 1:18,19 says, “For as much as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things as silver or gold… but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” The new life is a treasure greater than silver or gold. Anyone who has not tasted it should repent of their Sin and reconcile with God. Those who hold on to the old never lay hold of the new. Until we die to selves, we cannot live and fulfill our purpose. When we become Christians, we have a new life in Him. When we put on the new man, we will be ready to put right all that has gone wrong in our lives through the Grace of the Almighty God. We have a cause to rejoice, even when we don’t feel it. Revelation 21:5 says, “And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”

Beloved, you are a new creature in Christ. The truth is, there is a person God has in mind for you to be. You are a royal priesthood, a peculiar people, a holy nation, and the apple of God’s eye. You are no longer a loser. So quit calling yourself a loser or any negative name. Those negative names no longer refer to you now that you are in Christ. Accept the new name God has given you: “Winner.” Maybe you find yourself in church but are unsure if you have given your life to Christ; it is not too late. You can give your life to Jesus today. Don’t assume eternal matters. Assumption brings frustration. If you are not born again, you can say this prayer: Lord Jesus, I come before You today. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and cannot help myself. I know You died for me on the Cross to save me from sins. I confess my sins today and ask that You come into my life. I accept You as my LORD and Savior. And from today, I will follow You, forward ever and backward never. Thank You for saving me, Lord, in Jesus’ Name. Believe what God says about you; you are a new creation in Christ! Remember, only in Christ can you find a true, better, and wonderful life.

O Lord, thank You for the new life You have given me. Make me a better person for Your Glory, Honor, and Praise in Jesus’ Name.
