1 Corinthians 10:13(KJV)
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Temptation is simply a test that qualifies a person for the next level. Trials and temptations serve as the examinations that empower us for the next level in life, similar to how students write tests or exams to advance to the next class. Despite our inability to overcome, God is faithful and will provide us with what we need to succeed. God never permits anything in our lives without a purposeful end, for He is dependable to help us to face any trial or temptation and make us victorious. He is faithful to strengthen and protect us from the wiles and attacks of the devil, and to provide and meet us at the point of our needs. Apostle Paul reminds us that temptations are common to man. That means everyone faces the same temptations. There are no unique or extreme temptations that are impossible to overcome. No temptation will exceed our strength without the permission of God.
Throughout our lives, we encounter situations that question God’s faithfulness, but He is faithful. So no matter what we are going through, the reliability of God keeps things from getting worse. Although it’s painful to be joyful during temptation, we can take hope that God will use every baffling circumstance to help us reach maturity. James says we should count it all joy when our world is upside down in suffering and pain; this idea seems crazy to our human mind and body. But true joyfulness does not stem from our circumstances but rather from our trust and relationship with Jesus through the Holy Spirit. Through that, we turn our defeats into victories and trials into triumphs. Instead of being victims, we will become victors. It is, therefore, essential for us to learn how to overcome temptation and reduce our exposure to them by applying the antidote provided by the Lord. Jesus said in Matthew 26:41, “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” For our faith not to suffer shipwreck due to temptation, we are called by God to watch and pray. It does not mean that challenges will not come our way because just as there are examinations in all schools, the school of life will always set exams for us, but God is always faithful to see us through by allowing all things to work together for our good(Romans 8:28).
Beloved, God is faithful, and His faithfulness will not allow what will collapse you to confront you. Nothing in this world can have power over you because Jesus Christ promised complete victory for you and your family over life’s issues and problems (1 Corinthians 15:55-57). Out of your mess comes a message; out of your misery comes your ministry, and inside your insult is your result. Your shame shall give way to your fame, and your pain shall be replaced with your gain because your story is changing today, in Jesus’ Name. Do not let your condition determine your confession; let your confession swallow your condition. Keep making positive confessions consistently in times of temptations or trials. Nothing you are going through today is new, someone has passed through, and no tribulation will last forever. There is always light at the end of the tunnel. The decision you make about your temptations is what matters, not the trials. When you come face to face with tribulation, instead of giving in, stop and look for God’s way out. You can count on Him to help you. Today, God will show you the way of escape, and you will have the last laugh at the devil. Remember, you are rising from the realm of temptations to the realm of testimonies.
O Lord, give me the power to overcome every temptation or trial that comes my way in Jesus’ Name.
