Accept Wisdom And Reject Foolishness

Psalm 53:1 (KJV)

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

This verse emphatically underscores the dire consequences of denying the existence of God, emphasizing the moral and spiritual decay resulting from such rejection. It’s important to note that the designation of “fool” here does not pertain to intelligence but rather signifies a purposeful disregard for God and His teachings. Psalm 14:1 says, “The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, There is none that doeth good.” Those who deny the existence of God and worship false gods are essentially the same in the eyes of God. They are regarded as foolish and lacking understanding. The deliberate ignorance of non-believers is seen as rendering them foolish. Furthermore, their persistent opposition to the Lord only further hardens their hearts and corrupts their thinking. Many unbelievers struggle to accept the existence of God not due to a lack of evidence but because of the potential impact on their way of life. In a world without God, there would be no divine judgment or moral framework, allowing individuals to live without being morally accountable for their actions. This lack of accountability is especially attractive to those who wish to live without facing consequences for their actions.

The wonderful works of creation are enough evidence that there is God who rules in the affairs of men. He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the Ending, the Maker of Heaven and Earth, He knows the secrets behind all things. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” So, acknowledging God starts with trusting Him and not trusting our own wisdom. Desiring to acknowledge the Lord and wholeheartedly following His lead is truly commendable. To acknowledge God in all our ways is to truly understand Him, recognizing that God dynamically works in our lives with power, wisdom, goodness, and justice. When we acknowledge God, we open ourselves to His profound wisdom, unwavering guidance, and moral compass. Denying Him leads to a path of corruption and moral failure. A time will come when those who do not believe in God and those who have chosen to be indifferent to the glorious Gospel of God and have rejected His offer of salvation by grace through faith in Christ will be speechless. Proverbs 12:15 says, “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.” Understanding that our actions matter to God can inspire us to live righteously and seek His guidance in all we do.

Beloved, the willing ignorance of the unbeliever renders them a pathetic fool in the eyes of God. So, reject foolishness and choose wisdom! Reflect on your daily actions and thoughts. Examine your heart and ensure you are not living as a practical fool. Take time to acknowledge God’s Presence in your life. The more you know God, the more you will love Him. The more you love Him, the more you will want to obey Him because you know that will please Him. The way won’t always be easy, but if you trust Him, you can rest in His will, and He will direct your paths. Thank Him for His guidance and wisdom. Live in a way that honors Him, recognizing His sovereignty in every aspect of your life. Keep God at the center of your life, and let Him guide your actions and decisions. God, in His Love, is calling to see if anyone will understand His call and seek Him. When you are certain that you have turned away from God, it is time to repent and turn to the Lord with confidence, knowing that only He can cleanse you from sin and offer you salvation. Remember, a day is coming when each fool will stand before the judgment Throne of God to give an account of their foolish choices in life.

O Lord, help me always acknowledge Your Presence in my life. Guard my heart against the folly of denying You in Jesus’ Name.
