And David Enquired at the Lord!

1 Samuel 30:8(KJV)
And David enquired at the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
David had just returned from battle to find out that his people had been attacked. He found himself in an unfamiliar situation. He was used to experiencing victories, and being the one who destroyed the enemies, but not this time. The Amalekites had ransacked Ziklag, taking away their families and belongings. It was completely devastating to the point where David’s men began to talk about stoning him. One would have thought David, the commander of a fearsome army, to immediately ride out and pursue the Amalekites. With all that was happening David trusted God’s judgment and sought His direction, he did not move until he got clearance from God to pursue. The assurance from the Lord motivated him to pursue and recover all.
As Christians the level to which we allow God to have His Way in our lives shows how much we trust Him. When we allow God to direct the course of our lives, we can never suffer failure or defeat. There can be no recovery or destiny without direction and where there is no direction, disaster is easily available. No matter how knowledgeable we are in life, always lean on God for what to do and what not to do. It is written in Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” It is important to know that if we are to be successful, we have to trust in the Lord for direction before we take any step in life. Many people have made great mistakes that are still hurting them because they thought they were making the right move based on their professional assessments. Many great destinies have been ruined because of wrong direction or refusal to follow Divine instruction. Psalm 32:9 says “Do not be like a senseless horse or mule that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control.” There is a lot to gain from always asking God for advice. If we want to win in every area of our lives, ask God for what to do per time. When we walk according to the will of God, His loving nature obliges Him to give even beyond our wishes.
Beloved in your life, career, marriage and all you do, acknowledge the supremacy of God’s judgment and align yourself with His plan and purpose for your life. Never pursue a course of action without first seeking divine counsel about it. David after enquiring, pursue the Amalekites to recovered all that they had carried away. When the devil steals what belongs to you, you have a choice either to sit down and start crying over the lost or become violent in the spirit and pursue after him to recover your blessings. If you must recover whatever the devil and his agents have stolen from you, then you must seek God’s direction and pursue. To remain seated is to lose all because the devil and his agents are trying hard to fight you out of your destiny, so stand your ground and fight back. Don’t sit down and complain, for the devil wants to destroy whatever is left of your blessing. Never allow the devil to keep you bound, pondering on what you have lost, switch from hopelessness to encouragement. The Bible says David encouraged himself in the Lord. Rise up and pursue in the name of the Lord and take back what belongs to you. May God give you the strength to pursue the devil and recover all your blessings in Jesus Name. Remember, to seek Divine direction before you pursue any given thing in life, the extent to which you involve God in your personal, family or career affairs shows the extent of your trust in Him.
O LORD, I receive the grace for Divine direction in my entire life’s journey in Jesus’ Name.
