As You Have Spoken

Numbers 14:28(KJV)

Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the Lord, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:

It is vital to understand that words are prophecies. Every time we speak, we prophesy our future. On their way to the Promised Land, the Israelites accepted the evil report of ten out of the twelve spies, putting fear in their hearts. In their negative statements, God promised that as they have spoken in His Ear, so will He do. So, God does to us according to what we say in His Ears. Whatever God hears us say is what His Hand will perform for us. The Hand of God will never perform things we are not saying into His Ears. Though a tiny member of the body, the tongue can bring good or evil. It is because the words we speak either make us or destroy us. In other words, we determine the things that happen to us by the words of our mouth. The Bible in Psalm 81:10 says, “I am the LORD your God, who brought you up out of Egypt. Open your mouth wide and I will fill it.” There is always what to do to enjoy every provision God has made for us in His Word. It is impossible to encounter His goodness without talking about it for His hearing.

In this life, all battles are first won with words before they are in the physical. Before David stepped out to face Goliath, he first engaged him in a clash of words. When Goliath told David he would give his flesh to the fowls of the air and the beasts of the field, David did not keep quiet. He replied immediately and said, “this day, the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down and cut off your head. And I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day to the birds of the air, and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel and that all this assembly may know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear. The battle belongs to the Lord, who will give you into our hand.” David spoke much more than Goliath and also said the last word to the hearing of God. Whenever we speak as contained in the Scriptures, we say the right words that carry the irresistible great force that cannot go unheard. When Jabez wanted to change his sphere of influence, he called on God to bless and enlarge his territory, and God did that for him as he had spoken. What we do not believe, we are not empowered to become, and until we say it, God is not permitted to deliver. As we boast in the Lord with positive declarations, not only are we strengthened to move forward, the enemy is displaced, and God arises to confirm what we say. Proverbs 18:21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”

Beloved, your words are powerful and can affect you positively or negatively. Your words are the strength of your life. If you cannot declare, then you will remain discouraged and stranded. Feed your heart with words of success and express them through your mouth. Never be tired of charging yourself up with the Word of God. During the hottest battles, keep speaking. Never run your life down or join anybody in running it down in your presence or absence with negative words. Always reply immediately to every negative word with words of faith. Whatever is not your intention, destination, or expectation must never be your utterance. Because as you have spoken so, will God confirm your words. God is not to blame for your failures, as He regards what you say as the conclusion of your expectations. Therefore, stop saying negative things about your present conditions. Instead, start speaking about what is in God’s Word. God says, open your mouth wide, and He will fill it. If talking big is too big for your mouth, it would be too big for your hands. Until you speak it, you cannot have it. Today, take time and prophesy into your life according to what you want to see. Remember, a closed mouth is a fruitless destiny.

O LORD, help me speak the right words by the leading of the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ Name.
