Be Like Christ!

Philippians 2:5(TLB)
Your attitude should be the kind that was shown us by Jesus Christ.
From our anchored Scripture, Apostle Paul encourages us to have an attitude that mirrors the principles and life of our Lord Jesus Christ. With a desire to accurately represent our Lord, he urged the followers of the true Gospel to reflect the humility, self-sacrifice, and compassion of Jesus for others. There’s an old saying that “attitude determines altitude.” In other words, a positive, faith-filled attitude will cause you to rise higher in life, but a negative, self-critical attitude will only drag you down. When you reflect something, you are exhibiting its likeness, in other words, you are displaying its characteristics. Like a mirror, let us reflect the character and likeness of Jesus.
This lesson should challenge the Body of Christ in these end-times. It took great humility for our Lord Jesus Christ to take the form of a man and die the shameful death of the cross. The secret of our Lord’s humility lies in the state of His Mind. 1 Corinthians 11:1 says “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” Apostle Paul was so sure of himself and his position in Christ that he was bold enough to challenge those within his sphere of influence to imitate him as he himself imitated the Lord Jesus Christ. As a matter of fact, the acceptance of the Gospel lays the foundation of humility, because you cannot accept that you are a sinner without a humble heart. Humility breeds exaltation. For you to attain the height God has planned for you, you must be humble enough to fit into it. Many Christians believe they are humble, but only adversity reveals a man’s true character. Are we going to treat people right even when we’re being mistreated? Are we going to stay full of joy even when the bottom falls out? Have the kind of attitude that opens only the door to God’s miracle-working power.
Beloved, our attitude should mirror the life of our Master, who left His Glory in Heaven and take up the image of a servant on earth. He humbled Himself so much that He even laid down His life for all mankind. As a child of God, you must be like Jesus, having His humble attitude guiding your actions as you meet and relate with people in your sphere of influence. Remember, humility will elevate you to great height and give you honor, while pride will bring you down to the level of salt that have lost its savor, and make you useless. Choose humility. Be like Christ and stay relevant at all times because the mind of Christ is the mind of humility. Reflect Him and do good everywhere you go!
O LORD, give me the same mind You gave to Your Son Jesus, and help me in this evil and perverse generation in Jesus’ Name.
