Psalm 46:10(KJV)
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Today’s scripture is a powerful statement of God’s Omnipotent power and one that could be sung in the midst of trials or one that could be used to proclaim the power and protection of God over His people. God is just, it’s His character, it is who He is and it’s something He wants us to pursue. In life, there are times when we come face-to-face with situations that make us confused and baffled. But the question is, what does it mean to be still? It means to be calm and at peace. It also means to be composed and unshaken in the face of daring circumstances and situations. It means to be stable and silent.
So many people today find themselves caught up in the day-to-day busyness of life, but God is constantly inviting us to step away from the hectic pace of life and come to Him to find rest for our souls. The reality of God manifests in stillness. There is a side of God you will never know until you are calm because it is not of him that wills or runs but of God that shows mercy. He invites us to be still before Him, to get quiet so we can hear His Voice and set our hearts and minds at peace. He is our place of security and in Him, the Lord of hosts, we can rest, knowing that He has all things under control. The message is simple, where God dwells, there is peace, stability, and order.
Beloved, make it a point to be still before God and watch Him move. It is not over until God says it is over and God will never say it is over until His interest is secured; until His purpose is established in your life and destiny. So, do not let anything under Heaven make you lose your peace. Be still of all the things on your agenda and just focus on Him. Let Him love you, speak to your heart, and fill you with peace and strength each and every day. Remember, it is God’s Power that gives us ultimate value, protection, and peace.
O Lord, I choose to be still knowing that with You in the boat, I will always smile at the storm in Jesus’ Name.
