Psalm 46:10(KJV)
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Today’s scripture is a powerful statement of God’s Omnipotent power and one that we can sing during trials or use to proclaim God’s power and protection as His children. God is just. It’s His character; it is who He is and what He wants us to pursue. Psalm 46 serves as a beautiful reminder of God’s deliverance and protection. Even in the face of great danger, God intervened and saved His people. His words in verse 10 encourage us always to remember His greatness and that He reigns supreme over all nations. Sometimes, we encounter situations that leave us feeling bewildered and uncertain. Yet, in those moments, it’s important to remember the power of stillness. To be still means to remain calm and centered, even in adversity. It means maintaining composure and strength, even when our world seems chaotic. In stillness, we find stability and peace. Zechariah 2:13 says, “Be silent, O all flesh, before the Lord: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.”
Be still and know that I am God is a cherished Bible verse for many, offering comfort and inspiration. It’s comforting to know that God has a plan for our lives. We may not have complete control, but surrendering to Him can bring us peace, knowing He can intervene in any situation. So many people today find themselves caught up in the day-to-day busyness of life, but God is constantly inviting us to step away from the hectic pace of life and come to Him to find rest for our souls. It’s easy to let circumstances and fears take control in times of rush or panic. But when we make stillness a habit, we become better equipped to handle those moments. We won’t be overwhelmed by negative emotions or situations; instead, we can draw on the peace and strength that comes from God. The reality of God manifests in stillness. There is a side of God we will never know until we are calm because it is not of him that wills or runs but of God that shows mercy. He invites us to be still before Him, to get quiet so we can hear His Voice and set our hearts and minds at peace. He is our place of security, and in Him, the Lord of hosts, we can rest, knowing that He has all things under control. The message is simple: where God dwells, there is peace, stability, and order.
Beloved, make it a point to be still before God and watch Him move. God wants you to surrender everything to Him and be reliant on Him. He wants you to hand over all your cares and burdens into His hands and let His peace flood your heart. It is not over until God says it is over, and God will never say it is over until His interest is secured, until His purpose is established in your life and destiny. So, do not let anything under Heaven make you lose your peace. Be still and focus on Him. Stay focused on God and reflect on His character and His deeds. Let Him love you, speak to your heart, and fill you with peace and strength daily. It is critical to your faith to realize that the more you are deliberately still, the more you hear God’s voice, the better you recognize God’s activity, the smaller your issues seem, the bigger God appears. The more you follow God’s Divine purpose for you, instead of just your agenda, idea, and abilities. Today, you can take comfort in letting go and resting in God to provide help, strength, and safety. God is in control. He has more excellent plans for you than you could ask or think! Remember, God’s Power gives us ultimate value, protection, and peace.
O Lord, I choose to be still, knowing that with You in the boat, I will always smile at the storm in Jesus’ Name.
