Psalm 118:8 (KJV)
It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.
The above Scripture clearly asserts that trusting the Lord is far more advantageous than relying on fallible human beings. The Psalmist powerfully emphasizes the enduring nature of the Lord’s lovingkindness, illustrating that seeking refuge in Him is the wisest course of action. By placing our faith in God, we tap into a strong and unwavering support system infinitely more reliable than human judgment or strength. As Christians, we must trust and prioritize God in every aspect of our lives, as His wisdom and guidance surpass any human understanding. It is a compelling call to deepen our relationship with God, ensuring we find true peace and security in His protective and nurturing embrace. Psalm 40:4 says, “Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.” While it’s common to seek support from friends, family, and authorities, it’s imperative to place our ultimate trust in God, who is unwavering and entirely reliable. Confidence in humanity often leads to disappointment, as even the most well-intentioned individuals can disappoint us. In stark contrast, God’s faithfulness is rock-solid and absolute. When we anchor our reliance on Him, we can be fully assured of His steadfast love and unwavering support, which never falters. Trusting in God transcends any transient human assurance, providing a foundation of certainty and strength.
In our walk with God, complete reliance on Him is not just significant—it’s essential. He has consistently proven Himself to be trustworthy. Our mindset should boldly declare, “No matter what others say, no matter our self-doubts, no matter our own plans, or the circumstances we face, we will put our trust in God, for great things happen to those who place their faith in Him!” Proverbs 3:5 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;” Trust in the God of hope, for His Way is a perfect way; therefore, make doing His Will our own will, knowing that He is at work. When we trust Him, He will show us opportunities that people despise but possess great potential. His promises for our lives are flawless; they will surely come to pass. He has a masterpiece in mind for us. Trusting God’s promise can be difficult, particularly when we fail to understand His ways. However, His path is always superior to our own. We can be in Church for several years, and no transformation will occur if we place our faith in mere mortals, which is a curse. To trust in the arm of flesh is to sign up for frustration in life. We sign up for frustration when we trust in our families, connections, parentage, good looks, skills, talents, and spiritual gifts rather than the ultimate Giver. In Psalm 20:7, the Scripture says, “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.” Independence from God is the foundation for destruction. God’s blessings and provisions will only be on the mountaintop of trust and obedience. Jeremiah 17:7 says, “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.”
Beloved, it always pays to trust God at all times. When you place your complete trust in the Lord, you can be assured that your expectations will exceed what you can imagine. Trusting in the Lord demands a total commitment to His authority in every area of your life, not just certain pieces or situations. It is irrelevant what your parents, friends, bosses, or strangers may say; the priority is to fully rely on God and His word. Embrace this unwavering trust, and let it guide all your decisions and actions. Succeeding with God requires you to look to Him for all your supplies as you look entirely away from man. A person who does not look up to God for help will continue to wallow in helplessness in life. Trusting in God will remove shame from you and always bring you victory. Your trust in God determines your portion in life. He wants to be your strength; you must trust Him and His Word above all else. As long as you trust Him, you can never be stranded but have a bright and colorful future. Today, surrender your life entirely to God for His Strength and Defense by only placing your complete trust in Him. Refuse to look to man! In times of trouble or anxiety, consciously seek refuge in God’s promises. Spend time in prayer and Scripture, allowing God’s words to comfort and guide you.
O Lord, help me to trust in You above all else and to seek Your guidance and protection in every situation in Jesus’ Name.
