Bread From Heaven

Exodus 16:4 (KJV)

Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.

The Scripture above unequivocally speaks of God’s unwavering provision in the wilderness. Despite the Israelites’ murmuring, rebellion, and ingratitude, the Lord, in His kindness, abundantly provided for them. Instead of unleashing fire, brimstone, snares, or a terrifying tempest, God graciously catered to their specific needs and desires, steadfastly promising to sustain them by bestowing heavenly bread upon them. God wants His children to trust and rely on Him daily, seeking His provision and connecting with His open Heaven. Accessing an open Heaven is the key to witnessing supernatural power, extraordinary signs and wonders, and receiving miraculous healings. It is where we encounter divine intervention and angelic visitations and receive insights through dreams, visions, and prophecies. Open Heaven is the foundation of our miracles and blessings. When accessible, we can expect to see extraordinary displays of God’s power (Genesis 28, Daniel 10:7, Ezekiel 1:1). An open Heaven is a time of abounding revelation and a tangible experience of God’s Presence among us. Psalm 78:23 says, “Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven.”

God’s great desire is for His children to experience an open heaven. Human efforts alone are insufficient without God opening the Heavens to pour out His blessings. The Bible provides examples of individuals such as Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Daniel, and Jesus who experienced open heavens. A significant increase in the spirit of prayer and worship characterizes an open heaven. The day of Pentecost demonstrates this concept, as the Apostles were gathered together when suddenly, a sound from Heaven came, like a mighty rushing wind, that filled the entire house. Divided tongues accompanied this as fire appeared and rested on them (Acts 2:1-3). It is written in Deuteronomy 28:12, “The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.” When living under an open heaven, not only is the Spirit outpour, but we can often also experience increased financial blessing. As the rain falls outside, it blesses everything it touches with its refreshing touch. Similarly, when God pours out His blessings from above, they touch every aspect of our lives, bringing blessings in their own time and in their own way.

Beloved, always trust God’s provision and seek Him daily, knowing He showers blessings upon you, just as He did for the Israelites in the wilderness. Through faith and patience, now is the time to experience the promise of an open heaven. God is rich in all things and eager to supply all your needs and desires through His Son, Jesus Christ. Ask God to open the heaven in your life. Always appreciate His miracles and let your heart be full of expectation of open Heaven at all times. Today, decide to consecrate yourself and spend time with God in worship, prayer, and studying the Word to operate in the supernatural. Trust in the exchange of the finished works of Jesus. Believe in the efficacy of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Trust that the Lord will manifest His abundant grace and favor towards you. Visualize yourself standing under an open heaven, receiving divine blessings. Through faith in Christ, you will experience the fullness of God’s redemptive plan for your life. Jesus is the true bread from Heaven. He satisfies your deepest hunger and sustains you on your journey home to Heaven. Remember, intimacy with God is the starting point for your miracle of open heaven.

O Lord, I ask that You open the heavens upon my life to operate in the supernatural realm in Jesus’ Name.
