But the Greatest is Love!

1 Corinthians 13:13(AMP)

And now there remain: faith [abiding trust in God and His promises], hope [confident expectation of eternal salvation], love [unselfish love for others growing out of God’s love for me], these three [the choicest graces]; but the greatest of these is love.

It is evident from the above Scripture that three forces, faith, hope and love, will last forever but the greatest of them is love. It is good to know that both hope and faith are also critical necessities to the life and destiny of the child of God however, the greatest is love. The power of love is the greatest power in the universe. It’s beyond defeat and it never fails(1 Corinthians 13:8). The love of God was manifested when He gave His only begotten Son as the ultimate sacrifice on the cross of Calvary for the salvation of humility. The Bible teaches that God is the source of love and that His very character is love. Loving God, ourselves, and other people should be our focus in life. In other words, the work God has called us to do is characterized by our love for Him and our neighbor (Luke 10:27). That is having received the love of God, He expects us to match His love by worshipping and serving Him in truth and by showing His love to others.
Love is a central theme of the Christian faith and is a primary characteristic of God’s nature. God’s type of love is pure, untainted and without ulterior motives. This love is void of partiality. As Christians, we must always radiate the love of God with meekness, kindness, patience, peace and joy. God is pleased when we act like Him by showing others love. Considering this special type of love, one would agree that it is indeed the greatest of all ingredients required to build the Christian life. Every child of God should never be identified with envy, hatred, pride, selfishness, or any form of wickedness because love supersede all these. The person who refuses to love is missing out on the very best God has to offer. Love will drive the devil out of our affairs and set us free from every torment of darkness. When we walk in love, we overcome the devil because God is love and they that dwell in love dwell in God and God in them(1 John 4:16). That means the love of God makes us become a partaker of God. So, if by taking the shield of faith we can quench all the fiery darts of the devil, then by walking in love, we quench the devil himself!
Beloved, as you follow the way of love, you will find yourself often turning to God, the source of love, and to Jesus, the greatest example of love. Only then will you gain a deeper knowledge of what true love is and find the strength to love others like God loves you. Always release love into every situation, every prayer and every thought until it totally consumes your life. It will strengthen you and cast out every fear that has robbed you of God’s greater blessings. It will drive the devil out of your affairs and set you free from every torment of darkness. Today, put love to work on the stubborn problems in your life and your life will never be the same. The love of God in your life in this season will bring every struggle to an end in Jesus’ Name. Remember, only the Spirit of love can make you give God place in your life.
O Lord, fill my heart with Your love, so that Your love will flow through me to others in Jesus’ Name.
