By The Spirit Of The Lord

Zechariah 4:6(ESV)

Then he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.

The Spirit here is the Holy Spirit, and He is the third Person of the Trinity who shares the same identity with the Father and the Son. He is a multi-dimensional Spirit that empowers the saints for exploits. It is evident from the Scriptures that every child of God is ordained to live a lifestyle of exploits. That is, exploit is the birthright of the redeemed of the Lord. We also understand from the above Scripture that, for our destinies to be great and glorious, it will require the ministry of the Holy Spirit for complete delivery. In other words, there is no exploit outside the Holy Spirit. Our destinies are not deliverable by human efforts or exertion of one’s might but by the Holy Spirit. Rebuilding the temple looked impossible; the people were discouraged, faced opposition from their enemies, and lacked resources or a big army. But God sent Zechariah to remind Zerubbabel that the task would take something more powerful than military strength, individual power, or man-made resources. It would take the Holy Spirit because human strength is inadequate to accomplish God’s purposes. Psalm 33:16 says, “The king is not saved by his great army; a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.”

Power and might symbolize human strength in every description. They represent the degree of resources at our disposal to undertake an assignment. It’s good to do everything we know to do in the natural, but we have to remember that victory doesn’t come by might or power but by the Spirit of the living God. Determination gets us started and keeps us going for a while, but it is never enough to bring us across the finish line. God releases His power into our lives and energizes us to usher us across the finish line. John 15:5 says,” ……………. for apart from me you can do nothing.” When we know God is breathing in our direction and dare to take a leap of faith, we feel a supernatural lift that helps us accomplish what we could not achieve on our own. For example, until the Holy Ghost came, the glorious destinies of Peter and the other disciples were not known. However, after the Holy Ghost came, the fearful Peter became bold such that he and his men took cities by storm. So, to be destined for exploits is one thing; it is another to accomplish it on earth. There is no shortcut to actualizing our potential in Christ without the proven empowerment of the Holy Spirit. Without Him working in our lives, we can achieve nothing. Genesis 41:16, “Joseph answered Pharaoh, “It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh a favorable answer.”

Beloved, trust the Holy Spirit to give you victory in all circumstances. Engage the Spirit in any battle or confrontation of your life, for when the Holy Spirit is on your side, you are More than Conqueror. Do not rely on your own strength but surrender whatever you can boast about to God and let the Holy Spirit take the lead in everything you do. Whenever you come to the end of yourself, you are at the beginning with God. Never be discouraged by your weaknesses because it is not an obstacle to the move of God. God will accomplish His purpose, whether with many or with them that have no power, irrespective of personal weakness or the limitations of the people involved. The truth is that the purpose of God always manifests in the power of His Spirit, and His power is made perfect in human weakness(2 Corinthians 12:9). When you have grace, you have God, and whatever cannot stop God will never be able to stop you. As the temple of God, allow the Spirit to deal in you so that the Divine Nature might destroy the evil nature and take complete control for Christ’s sake. The unseen hand of God will intervene in your situation, and your victory will confound your enemies and detractors in Jesus’ Name. It is your season and your time to believe again. Trust that God can open doors that no man can shut. Believe that He is working behind the scenes in your favor. Believe that it’s your season, your time, and get ready to embrace every blessing He has in store for you! Remember, supernatural exploits in life are not for everybody; it is only made available for those baptized by the Holy Ghost.

O Lord, thank You for the Holy Spirit; I receive the power of the Holy Ghost to overcome in Jesus’ Name.
