Proverbs 22:10(KJV)
Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease.
On the path to success or higher glory, there will be discouragers, mockers, and dream killers will laugh at you. Don’t listen to their discouraging words or laughter for God is a specialist at disgracing mockers and giving His Children the last laugh. The Lord Jesus Christ on His time here on earth faced many mockers including His own family. Most members of His family did not even believe in Him until after His resurrection(John 7:3-5). A lot of the distractions you will encounter from people on your way to the higher glory God has for you will be borne out of envy. Just look at what Elisha went through with the sons of the prophets on his way to his promotion, however he ignored and kept pursuing. Peace will come in as soon as the scorner goes out. Cast out the mocker and there will be peace. There is no place for debate, despite, gainsaying, implacability, railing, reviling, sedition, strife, or variance in your life and in the church of Christ. Don’t get me wrong because as Christians, we are to try and help others get saved and better, but if you allow mockers around your life, they will destroy your heart(weaken your faith) and confession. Watch out!
Jesus in Mark 5:36-41 cast out those who were laughing with the exception of the parents, Peter, James and John when He said the child is not dead but sleeping. Jesus knew for the miracle to happen, He needed people around Him who believe and not mockers. Our anchor scripture emphatically tells us to throw out the mocker, and we will get rid of tension, fighting, and quarrels. In Genesis 21, Sarah demanded Ishmael and her mother to be cast out when she found out about Ishmael mocking Isaac. As Christians, we need to see the spiritual significance of casting out mockers. The very moment you surround yourself with people who are always laughing at your vision, you must prepare for failure. Many people have failed in life because instead of putting out the mockers in their lives, they rather want to keep and manage them. Every evil expectation of your mockers shall be disappointed in Jesus’ Name! You shall laugh from now on.
Beloved, to be successful in anything your hand finds to do, you have to be bold and cast out every mocker in that business, regardless of who they are(family included). As a pastor never be afraid to cast out mockers in your church because if you don’t they will rather destroy your reputation and scatter the flock God has entrusted to you. It would be very wise not to hang around those who are mockers. It’s true and it will always be true “bad company ruins good morals.” It is also said “Tell me who your friends are, and I will tell you who you are.” I will end with Proverbs 14:6-7 and Scripture says “The mocker seeks wisdom and finds none, but knowledge comes easily to the discerning. Stay away from a fool, for you will not find knowledge on their lips.” Remember, anyone who does not contribute to your progress or encourage you in any way is an excess luggage. Do away with them.
O Lord, I receive the wisdom to cast out all mockers in my life in Jesus Name.
