Channel To Glory

1 Samuel 16:18(KJV)

Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the Lord is with him.

From the above Scripture, we are to rule and reign on earth as children of the KING of Kings and LORD of Lords. There was a time King Saul had a mental problem after disobeying God, and the servants of Saul wanted a skillful musician. They found David because he was the only person with the required skill set or qualification. He was cunning in playing the instrument of worship and praise. David was the best instrumentalist in Israel that could play to cast out demons from King Saul. That brought David before Saul, and he became Saul’s armor bearer. So, his attributes took him from ordinary life to extraordinary existence; he was moved from the wilderness to the palace because God was with him and at the frequency of skill. David was called a man of war by the servants of Saul when there was no record of the war he had fought at that time because the Lord was with him. He also had a fighting spirit, even when there was no war. The fighting spirit is the spirit that does not give up on an issue; it is the spirit that runs after lions when others run from them. It is the spirit that lives in the realm of risk.

Throughout history, excellence has been established as the key to success. It is the secret of promotion and elevation in life above our contemporaries. God had David on a path that would lead to greatness, but it wasn’t an overnight journey; he needed to deploy diligence to arrive at importance. When Joseph interpreted the dream of Pharaoh in Genesis 41:42-44, Pharaoh took off his signet ring and put it on Joseph’s finger, arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain around his neck. Joseph’s potential connected him with his provision, and his gift was the secret of his lift. In other words, to release our gift is to receive gifts. Daniel became relevant in Babylon by excellence (Daniel 6:1-3). Likewise, God wants the best for His children, but it may be years of difficulty and pain, trials and tests, joys and sorrows as God moves us from A to B and breaks and molds our lives and character until it resembles that of His Son. It takes hard work to go high in everything. When God sees a fighter, the Anointing to dare what people fear is released.

Beloved, strive to attain such a level in your profession that if someone were to think of the topmost person, you would be the first to come to mind. Discover what God has put in you and develop it. Be diligent in your development because the highest form of investment is an investment in self-development. Increase the knowledge of what you do, your gift, talents, and abilities. Decide to increase your knowledge, wisdom, and expertise through training. Whatever be your trade, give yourself to learning all it takes to be the best at it. Live a life of worship, and God will position you in the high places of life. Today, all you need to do is to be bold and confident like David with unwavering faith in God, and He will also be with you. Develop a fighter’s spirit and make up your mind not to give up on an issue until you see a turnaround or have a breakthrough. Remember, worship was the first thing that took David from the worst to the best of life. It is your devotion that determines the height of your distinction in life.

O LORD, baptize me with an unquenchable addiction to Your Presence and help me to release excellence in my generation in Jesus’ Name.
