John 15:16 (KJV)
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
It is clear from our anchored verse that all born-again Christians are called to bear fruit, and more importantly, that this fruit should endure. Before heading to the Mount of Olives, Jesus imparts vital teachings about love, unity, and the significance of bearing fruit in our lives. He emphasizes that the disciples were chosen for a purpose: to bear fruit that lasts. When Jesus speaks of lasting fruit, He highlights the importance of our actions and their enduring impact. In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus commands, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Through the Scriptures, we discover that soul-winning is the most rewarding of Kingdom stewardship endeavors, encompassing every blessing we will ever need. It empowers believers for dominion and brings unspeakable joy. Proverbs 11:30 says, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he that winneth souls is wise.” The call to win souls for the Kingdom is a mission for all born-again Christians, extending beyond just preachers.
In our transient world, where things fade and lose significance, we, as followers of Christ, are called to be agents of transformation, spreading God’s love and grace wherever we go. Our labor is a blessing that can continue to touch lives long after we are gone. We are not merely passive observers in our faith journey; we are active participants in bringing about lasting change. The Master Jesus urged us not only to bear fruit but to ensure that it remains. Our mission does not end after reaching souls for Christ; we must nurture and follow up with them. Acts 15:36 says, “And some days after Paul said unto Barnabas, Let us go again and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they do.” In our evangelical efforts, we persist until those we minister to are firmly established in Christ and equipped to reach others. Fruitful soul-winning transcends mere telling; it is about truly winning hearts. Until souls are established, our work is not complete. One beautiful advantage of soul-winning is the promise of answered prayer; if we are fruitful, whatever we ask the Father in the Name of Jesus will be granted. As we engage in evangelism, our names are entered into God’s payroll, and He rewards us richly. It is written in Luke 22:35, “And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye anything? And they said, Nothing.”
Beloved, God has chosen and appointed you. Let your daily life and actions be deeply rooted in Him, for they hold eternal significance. Be determined to engage in winning lost souls to the Kingdom. There is no greater way to express your love for Jesus Christ than by leading others to Him. Winning a soul is one of the most direct paths to receiving answers to your prayers. When you make yourself and your resources available for soul winning, God blesses you abundantly. Rise to your calling and fulfill your divine assignment with joy, knowing you are aligned with the Father’s will. Trust that your efforts will produce lasting fruit and honor God as you stay rooted in Christ and obedient to His leading. Be intentional in your relationships; share the Gospel, serve others, and use your gifts and talents for His glory. The greatest gift you can offer anyone is not money, but salvation, as this guarantees all other blessings. No matter where you are or what you do, make soul-winning your lifestyle. Be wise and save a soul! To enjoy the benefits of bearing fruit, you must be born again. Are you bearing fruit? If not, this is your opportunity to start. Just say this prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me for my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. Today, I have decided to follow You and accept You as my Lord and personal Savior. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me! Now I know I am born again! Remember, do not be just a bench warmer, an ordinary hand-clapper, or an amen-shouter uninvolved in God’s work, for that is a waste of your time and life.
O Lord, give me the grace to bear fruit for the Kingdom. Baptize me afresh with the passion for lost souls in Jesus’ Name.
