Galatians 2:20(KJV):
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
According to the Scripture above, we must live for God the Father through Jesus Christ the Son. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins so we can live for Him. We must recognize that our existence carries greater value than our own personal interests, as Christ has paid the price for us. Galatians 5:24 says, “And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.” As Christians, we are crucified with Christ, dead to sin, and alive to God in holiness and righteousness. In other words, those who belong to Christ are free from the power of sin; they are no longer slaves to sin. Our lives should always make a bold statement about our stand in Christ and our level of spiritual maturity. Because Christ lives in us, we overflow with His life. Therefore, life is not worth living if not lived for Christ. It is a life of sacrifice that is pleasing to the Lord.
The truth is God created us to live for Him alone. So until we live by faith in God, we can never end with God. Philippians 1:21 says, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” To properly live for Christ, we are to die to ourselves. It’s a powerful truth that when we learn to put ourselves aside, our hearts become more like the servant. To give our life to Christ is to cease living for ourselves and start living for Christ alone. That is to say, if it is not for Christ, there is no need to live. As it is in the physical, so it is in the spiritual. God cannot own us, and we are looking like the children of the devil, for resemblance is also proof of ownership. After we have given our lives to Christ, we must live a new life putting on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. It is the only way we can live for God instead of ourselves. Romans 14:8-9 says, “For whether we live, we live unto the LORD; and whether we die, we die unto the LORD: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the LORD’s. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be LORD both of the dead and living.” Living for God will make the children of God revolve their life, relationship, job, career, and businesses around God. That means everything we do in life, we consider our relationship with God first.
Beloved, God created you for His pleasure and His Kingdom. From this viewpoint, living on earth without a focus on living for Christ is categorized as futile. Come to the point where believers and unbelievers can see or feel Jesus Christ when they come close to you by how you dress, talk, or by your attitude. Make up your mind today to live solely for Christ and Christ alone. Live to please the Master in all you do, and you will experience joy like never before. Make God the Centre of your life, and do not be involved in decisions and actions that God is not involved in. In other words, make God the most important reason for living, and focus your life’s pursuit on God. If eternity with God in Heaven is your vision, then living for Him on earth must be your action. Remember, let your life always glorify God!
O Lord, I receive the grace to live for You alone. Let my life always give You glory at all times, in Jesus’ Name.
