Decently And In Order

1 Corinthians 14:40(KJV)

Let all things be done decently and in order.

In 1 Corinthians 14, Paul emphasizes the importance of maintaining order and decency in all actions. This principle aligns with the belief that God is the ultimate orchestrator of order, not chaos. The concept of order and protocol extends to the heavenly realm, where God’s governance is structured and deliberate. From the beginning, God employed His Word to establish order in the universe, underscoring the significance of adherence to divine statutes for our well-being. Embracing God’s order brings tranquility and a sense of security, epitomized by organized thoughts, behavior, appearance, and timely and deliberate actions. Following the format, principles, and protocols set forth by a higher authority is crucial in navigating the path to a heavenly existence. God intends to activate and embolden us in ways beyond our current comprehension.

In our devotion to God, it is essential that our actions are conducted in a dignified and orderly manner in order to honor God and set a positive example for non-Christians, encouraging them to embrace the faith. Our worship should reflect this by adhering to good order, as God is a God of order. It is crucial that we worship God not only according to our own desires, convenience, tradition, or the latest trends but as the Bible instructs us to do so. Jesus taught us to worship in Spirit and truth. Our worship should be vibrant and full of life, as life is not contrary to order; rather, it ceases to thrive when it lacks binding order. A Spirit-filled worship service will be conducted in an orderly manner and centered around God’s Word. When we fully embrace the Word of God, we open ourselves to the boundless possibilities that the Spirit of God wants to unfold in us and through us. Hebrews 8:5 says, “Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.” When the Lord admonished Moses to build the Tabernacle, He told him to follow the prescribed order. In other words, we cannot do God’s things our way; they must be done His way, for He won’t honor us if we’re out of order.

Beloved, let everything be done orderly. In your life, learn to maintain order, no matter the belief, everything needs to be done orderly. The Holy Spirit doesn’t thrive in an atmosphere of chaos. If there’s disorder in your life, you can’t walk effectively with the Holy Spirit. When you violate the law of order, you disobey the will of God. The responsibility of following God’s order is weighty, but it is a necessary obedience. Nothing is done just for fun in Heaven; everything in Heaven is done to reflect God’s will, law, or order. So, in serving God, you must do everything decently and in order, for the disorganized can never get anything done. The disorderly and unskillful will chase everything simultaneously and catch nothing at the end of the day. The disobedience to God’s order brings chaos and calamity. Be obedient and stop complicating your life by trying to figure out everything. Organize your time, thoughts, work, finances, and every minute of your day. Follow the prescribed order of things; follow the Word if you want divine results. As you strive for mastery in all you do, remember to be orderly, and your results will be glorious.

O Lord, set my life in order and help me live for You in Jesus’ Name.
