Declare Praise

2 Chronicles 20:21-22(KJV)

And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth for ever. And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.

During the reign of Jehoshaphat, the people of Judah encountered a mighty work of God when they praised and worshipped Him. On the day of battle, Jehoshaphat appointed a worship team to lead the army. This unusual move of placing singers at the head of the army may have appeared amusing to the enemy. The worship team focused on a well-known refrain that spoke about God’s enduring love, singing, “Give thanks to the Lord, for His love endures forever.” As they praised God and reflected on His unfailing love, the Lord brought disarray and confusion to the enemy’s camp. It was praise that brought them the great victory over the children of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir who came against them. The Bible records, and when they began to sing and to praise the Lord, He caused the armies against Judah to fight among themselves and they destroyed each other! Hallelujah!!!! Now, that’s victory! Jehoshaphat enjoyed the victory of the Lord without fighting a battle! And it all began with praise. The enemy armies began to annihilate each other, and Judah emerged victorious.

It is important to understand that praise is the way to secure God’s Presence, and when we do, what gives way to God gives way to us. Praise is the easiest way to access victory in the Kingdom of God. In other words, it is what we do to secure victory in any battle of life. That is, we transfer our battles to God when we engage in praise. Each time we praise the Name of the Lord, great and marvelous things happen. It has been confirmed that no devil can tie down a real person who is thankful. Jonah remained in the belly of the whale until he said, But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord. And the Lord spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land (Jonah 2:9-10). Nothing happened until Jonah offered thanks to God. Acts 16:25-26 says, “And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God:… And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.” When Paul and Silas praised, the prison doors opened for their freedom. In other words, the frequency of praise is the frequency of liberty. Praise moves the Hand of God to do the impossible. And that is not to undermine the place of prayers in anyway.

Beloved, your praise and thanksgiving to God is an indication of absolute trust in Him. When the people of God praise Him, infirmities, yokes, bondages, barrenness and all the works of the devil are destroyed. In the realm of praise, every limitation gives way. When you do for God what He cannot do for Himself (that is, praising Himself), He will do for you what you cannot do for yourself. Are you looking for that kind of victory today? Then stand up and shout, “Glory!” Praise God, irrespective of the situation you find yourself per time. Today speak praise, sing praise, and declare praise in the face of your battle. Praise God wholeheartedly in expectation of what He is about to do in your life. Pray as much as you can, and praise as much as possible. It is possible to pray amiss ,but it is never possible to praise amiss. You may not have the voice to sing, but you have the heart to make melody and a voice to make a joyful noise. Any prison holding you can vomit you by the power of praise. Stand against your overwhelming odds, and reflect on God’s unfailing love which endures forever will come through for you, in an unexpected way! His love never fails!!

O Lord, I praise You for who You are, what You have done and for what You are yet to do for me in Jesus’ Name!
