Delight In His Commandments

Psalm 112:1(ESV)

Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his commandments!

The meaning of delight is a high degree of pleasure, happiness, joy, and amusement. Delighting ourselves in the commandments of the Lord implies that we have universal confidence in Him and His commandments. It is to develop the passion for the knowledge of God and do His Will. Our anchor Scripture is clear: the blessed man fears the Lord and delights in His commandments. Fearing the Lord and greatly delighting in His commandments holds a guarantee for our prosperity and honor. So, as Christians, we can enjoy the blessings of God when we take delight in Him and His commandments. When we make a habit of delighting in God’s commandments, our heart is fixed on Him. Our God wants us to be totally dependent on Him, trust His will for us, and follow the path He leads us through. So, when we make up our minds to delight in God, we attract His Blessings, including His Voice, to direct our path. That is, delighting in His commandment attracts His Voice and guidance. In other words, God does not reveal His Will to people who do not take delight in His precepts. Psalm 119:92-93 says, “If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. I will never forget your precepts, for, by them, you have given me life.”

It is abundantly clear that the children of God are destined for the top. God created us to exist in the realm of excellence and distinction in whatever we do. Isaiah 58:14 says, “Then you shall take delight in the Lord, and I will make you ride on the heights of the earth; I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” Delighting in the Lord is a spiritual platform for our flight into the high places of life. Delighting in God is one of the best things children of God can ever learn to do. The moment we learn to please God, life will become beautiful because we will begin to experience a kind of peace we never knew existed. Our loving Father wants to give us the desires of our hearts, but it will take a heart that delights in Him. When we delight ourselves in the Lord, we shall have all our needs provided. Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” The truth is, the more we delight in God, the more He gets closer to us, thereby putting our destinies under pressure to be released. Many delight in wealth, position, material possessions, and other temporary things of the world, but they are never satisfied. However, delighting in the Lord is a true treasure. The more we fear God and delight in His commandments, the more He will bless us and care for us.

Beloved, delight in the Lord if you want to have dominion over the forces of darkness and fulfill your destiny. Focus on God, and He will make your life delightful and successful. As you delight in the Lord, He will also delight in you, silencing anyone against your progress. You will enjoy all-around security and speedy answers to your prayers. I have never seen any man who has taken to the Lord wholeheartedly and ended defeat in life. You can’t fail because failure is not consistent with you. You will succeed in anything you choose to do! As you delight yourself in the Lord, He will supply His Grace and the necessary human help to see to your success. God is with you. Trust in Him, and He will stand beside you and keep you firm and steady, even in the face of troubles and attacks from hell. No matter the situation you find yourself in, God will take what the enemy meant for evil and turn it around for your good. He always leads us to victory. Consciously read and meditate on God’s Word daily; honor and keep all His commandments. Forget them not in all you do. Determine to be faithful in your covenant practices in order to connect the Blessing of God.

O Lord, give me the grace to delight in You and Your commandments. I ask for the impartation of Your Blessing on my life in Jesus’ Name.
