Disobedience

Deuteronomy 28:15(KJV)
But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
The Scriptures make it abundantly clear that disobedience is a deadly enemy of destiny. Disobedience is caused by rebellion and distrust of God, scripture makes us to understand that rebellion is like the sin of witchcraft, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry(1 Samuel 15:23). To be disobedient is to yield to self-will instead of surrendering to God and desiring His will in all things. It is the reason behind people’s inability to hear from God, you are cursed when you live in disobedience. It will keep you from doing what God has called and anointed you to accomplish in life. It will also hinder you from experiencing the sense of peace God wants you to enjoy as you find rest for your soul in Him.
When you begin to live in disobedience, things that you have long conquered will begin to come up again. In 1 Kings 11:11-14 God raised up against Solomon an adversary, because he did not keep God’s covenant and decrees, which He commanded him. Anytime you disobey God, you open an access for the devil to come against you. When we go astray, God sometimes bring in the oppressor in a bid to bring us back to Himself. However, continual disobedience at such times will only result in perpetual displeasure from the Almighty. Ephesians 5:6 says “Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.” It is important to know that it was a lifestyle of disobedience that dislocated the destiny of Adam and Eve; they disobeyed God and their destinies were aborted.
Most Christians today know how to spiritualize their disobedience and think they are dealing with man, they go to the extend of saying things like “God understand”. Today, disobedience is on the rise in our world, you have Christians refusing to pay their tithes and vows, men are marrying men, women are marrying women, murder and divorce at an all time high, relegation of Christianity, the rise of religions that hate God, occult and witchcraft on the increase. You have pastors who are publicly disobeying God, have wives and still sleeping with the single women in the church. What are we doing to ourselves? Against our lives today, men have reversed the law of God which gave free and easy access to God and His provisions. Deuteronomy 8:11 says “Be careful that you do not forget the LORD your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day.”
Beloved, do not agree with anyone to disobey God, even if it is your pastor or boss at your place of work. Regardless of who you are, where you come from and whatever you might think, your essence here on earth is to obey and worship God. To be obedient is to be in agreement with God. Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in rebellion. The sure way back to His favor is sincere repentance and humble return like the prodigal son and He will abundantly pardon and restore you unto Himself again. Make God the priority of your life above everyone and everything.
O LORD, I ask for the grace for absolute obedience and dependence on You in Jesus’ Name.
