Do Not Fear

2 Timothy 1:7(KJV)

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Fear can be defined as False Evidence Appearing Real. Fear will always give the devil access to your life. It is satan’s primary weapon, and he moves in response to fear, the way God moves in response to faith. Satan could not touch Job until he became afraid. Today’s Scripture empowers Christians of every age and degree to overcome cowardice, fear of danger, and shrinking from doing their duty for fear of man’s displeasure, as it reminds us that such feelings do not come from the Spirit of God. However, God has given us the spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. This is why finding true children of God living in fear is rare. The Bible in Romans 8:14-15 says, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.” When we walk by what we see, fear will remain until we walk by faith. In other words, we live in fear when we walk by sight, but when we move by faith, we walk in power. Every time we notice fear, it is an indication that faith is absent, and we will become victims of things we fear.

It has been established that fear invites disaster, arrests progress, and paralyzes action. The fear of failure, for instance, makes people not take action; the fear of the future makes people die in the present and makes them move as shadows of themselves. In Matthew 14, Jesus invited Peter to come to Him on the water, but when Peter saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid and began to sink. What enabled Peter to walk on the water? His faith in the Word of Jesus. What caused Peter to sink? He saw the wind boisterous, and he was afraid. It wasn’t the wind that defeated him; it was his fear of it! He looked at his circumstances and gave in to the fear, resulting in defeat. If Peter had focused on Jesus, his faith would never have wavered. As long as we walk by what we see, fear will remain until we walk by faith. Every time we notice fear, it indicates that faith is absent, and we will become victims of anything we are afraid of. David said even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for God is with me.

Beloved child of God, God has not given you the spirit of fear, so let no fear fill your heart, for God is Mighty to save. He will deliver you from the problem that is making you afraid. The Almighty God you serve will arise because of you, and He will deliver you! You are a child of God, so fear not, for fear belongs to the children of the devil, and you are not a child of the devil. You have been chosen as the betrothed of the King of kings and Lord of lords, and you are a co-heir with Him. You are a royal priesthood and have been bestowed with the power of the Maker and Creator of the universe. So, fear not! Deal with it today because fear is a magnet for evil, just as faith is a magnet for good. If you want to achieve greatness, now is the best time to tackle fear. You must make up your mind that fear will not cripple your destiny. Starve your fear and feed your faith with God’s Word, for faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Deal with it today because fear is a magnet for evil, just as faith is a magnet for good. Always embark on positive declarations to defeat your fears and let the devil know that you know who you are. You have not received the spirit of bondage nor the spirit of fear. So, do not allow fear to imprison your life. Nothing must stop you from fulfilling God’s purpose for your life. Live every day with the boldness that the spirit of adoption brings, for God has not given you the spirit of fear but of audacity. Remember, whatever you fear will dominate and defeat you.

O Lord, I ask for the grace to feed my faith and starve my fear always through Your Word in Jesus’ Name.
