Matthew 7:12 (AMP)
So then, whatever you desire that others would do to and for you, even so do also to and for them, for this is (sums up) the Law and the Prophets.
The Scripture encourages us to treat our neighbors as we want to be treated because this is what God expects from us. Jesus in this Scripture gave us the Golden Rule and did not relent in letting us understand the importance of how we treat our neighbors. In life, it is crucial to know the things that matter and do them. Identifying the most important things in life and doing them is key to success and greatness in life. Doing unto others as we want them to do to us is a good life principle that prevents a lot of selfishness and make us live a life of kindness. Kindness isn’t so much what we do for ourselves but what we do for others. Give value unto others for it is in your giving that your growth comes.
It takes love to impact people, so let people including strangers, feel the impact of our lives. What we cannot do to ourselves, don’t do it to anyone. Do what you can for others for the Bible says in Galatians 6:9-10 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” When a person knows how to love, to give and to bless, doors cannot close against him. It’s written in Philippians 2:3-4 “Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.” Focusing on others, attracts focus from Heaven. When we are concerned about others, God will take care of our own desires. Maybe you’ve been praying and asking God to change your story for a while now, why don’t you pray for others who are believing God for the same? Rather than being overwhelmed by the issues in your life and family, begin to pray for other people and families around you. When you live with this consciousness, miracles will happen in your life without you having to ask.
Beloved, you cannot love without giving, learn to treat others the same way you want them to treat you. Make life better for others today by loving and helping them. Be more interested in lifting people to greater heights in life instead of yourself. Seek to walk in spirit and truth and to love as Christ loved you, so that whatever you do in word or deed you do all to the glory of God. The truth is, real joy comes when the people around you are also happy. Let’s endeavor to correct, strengthen, and encourage each other in love along the way, making sure not to destroy anyone who falls into error as a result of one weakness or the other. Start planting one good seed after another, eventually you’ll enjoy a good harvest. Remember that whatever you’ve been casting out there is always what you find on down the road. As you start this new day, the love of God shall overshadow your life. Today receive the GRACE to make a mark on somebody’s life in Jesus’ Name!
O Lord, let the love of Christ manifest in my life as I love my neighbor as myself in Jesus’ Name.
