Don’t Give In To Compromise

Psalm 119:3(NLT)

They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths.

Compromise refers to a double standard of living and a questionable Christian identity. Oxford Dictionary defines it as accepting standards that are lower than desirable. Compromising with evil is a stumbling block for most. To compromise is to make accommodations for someone or something against the standards or rules of God. The Bible makes it very clear that God doesn’t condone compromising His standards. Rejecting compromise requires complete dedication and submission to God, regardless of the world’s concession to godlessness. Staying away from compromise is fundamental for greatness in life and destiny. Following God’s wise instruction allows us to escape the consequences of choices we later wish we could undo. It is the foundation for regrets. Matthew 12:30 says, “He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.” God hasn’t got any room for compromise. We’re either living for God or working against Him.

It can be challenging to reconcile the idea that there are no ambiguous or unclear areas in the teachings of God. What God calls sin is sin. We have Christians today who still visit demonic houses, shrines, palm readers, and nightclubs and use all manner of demonic mediums and charms to achieve fake success, which is short-lived, leading to spending eternity in hellfire. We can only deceive ourselves because God cannot be mocked. When we have in place an arrangement of alternatives to God and do things to please ourselves, we are living in compromise. Abram compromised, and we are still dealing with it today. Since Sarai can’t give you a child and God is delaying, Abram chose to agree to an arrangement by sleeping with Hagar, and that compromise brought a huge problem that the world is still dealing with(Genesis 16:1-5). Compromise has serious consequences. It’s essential to always stay true to our values, even when it means having difficult conversations or saying no to projects. Making compromises and going against our judgment can lead to regret and resentment, which is much harder to overcome. We can create a life filled with purpose and meaning by staying true to our values. The path of becoming people-pleasers is a challenging and twisting journey. It takes us away from living a life of integrity and makes us vulnerable to the winds of change. Despite external pressures to engage in activities that go against our beliefs, it’s crucial to remain steadfast in our commitment to living godly. We must be confident to stand alone, even when facing ridicule or persecution. For those genuinely devoted to their faith, it is more important to remain true to their beliefs than to seek acceptance from others.

Beloved, never compromise in any shape or form. If God can’t give, don’t get it. If God can’t take you there, don’t go there. If God can’t do it, let it remain undone. God can give, make, and do all, so wait on Him and not try to help God achieve it. God can’t be helped(2 Samuel 6:7). He is too big for man to help Him. Make up your mind to be a person of principle like Joseph. Avoid the company of those who will compromise on every situation and embrace the company of the principled. Standing up for what’s right is hard but worth it in the long run. Today, delight in total obedience to God’s commandments. Value God more than anything or anyone else. The more you get into God, the less fun the compromise is. So, determined to make changes in your life to experience true happiness, you must choose to live by God’s Word rather than giving in to the desires of your flesh. Walking in His paths and following Jesus is the only way to find life and truth. You must refrain from mixing and matching your beliefs to see your version of the truth. It’s either God’s way or no way. Remember, happiness can only be found by living according to His plans.

O LORD, thank You for Your Word. Help me not to compromise in my walk with You in Jesus’ Name.
