Endure Temptations!

James 1:12(KJV)
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Trials, persecutions and temptations are part of life whether we believe it or not. However, there is a blessing attached to those who overcome them. God promised a crown of life to all who endure to the end. It takes genuine love of God to be able to overcome temptation. Like Abraham, he persevered in the test and then received the promise of God(Gen. 22:15–18). Joseph was able to overcome temptation of sleeping with his masters wife because of the love he had for God(Genesis 39:9). When we have persevered, we are given the ultimate victory. James also writes that our growth in faith is also made possible by difficulties. As Christians, we are called to persevere in Christ.
It’s difficult to be joyful during trials and persecutions but we can take hope from the fact that God will use difficult circumstances to help us reach maturity. They provide opportunities for believers to enjoy the comfort of the Holy Spirit as promised by Christ. Obviously, God does not forget His children in the fire of trials of faith. Those who endure will discover God’s Promise of protection, preservation and provision to be true. Revelation 2:10 says, “Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have tribulation. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.” Nothing ever just happens. Doors never just burst open. If you will make it in life, you have to pass series of tests. So instead of blaming God, remember what Job did when advised to curse God for his trials. He Remained Faithful and Never Gave Up. Whatever you’re facing, going through or about to go through, know this, IT WON’T LAST! There is an end to everything in life. No matter the situation, God’s love for us will never diminish as long as we remain in His Kingdom. Believe His good intentions even when we do not understand. The One who died for us will not work against us when we are in a good relationship with Him.
Beloved, do not be afraid and complain when you go through diverse temptations. Yes, the enemy is camped around you and he’s waiting on you to wave the white flag of defeat, he’s waiting on you to give up, he’s waiting on you to throw in the towel but please DO NOT. The devil and his agents will not celebrate over you in Jesus’ Name. You may be overwhelmed, but you’re not out, depressed but not dead, or sad but not stuck. What you’re facing won’t last. Remain faithful in your test. Never give up in your trials, always remember that the man who fights one more round is never whipped. Keep fighting for God has promised you a crown of life, if you continue to persevere in your trials. Romans 5:3-4 says “And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope:” Remain faithful and trust God for He delights in every detail of your life and will never let you down. Study the Word of God and be more prayerful! Remember, it is your resistance to temptation that makes you an overcomer.
O Lord, thank you for giving me the assurance that I will share in your life and your victory forever. Help me to endure every temptation in Jesus’ Name.
