Into Their Own Pit

Proverbs 26:27 (KJV)

Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.

Our foundational scripture unequivocally demonstrates the timeless principle of karma and the profound consequences of our actions. It illustrates the clear connection between cause and effect, emphasizing that the harm we intend for others invariably returns to us. These actions symbolize calculated schemes or traps set against others, serving as a powerful reminder that a stone set in motion will inevitably roll back upon the one who initiated it. The message is clear: our intentions and actions will not go unnoticed, and the repercussions will come full circle. Ecclesiastes 10:8-9 says, “He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him. Whoso removeth stones shall be hurt therewith; and he that cleaveth wood shall be endangered thereby.” Those who try to trap or destroy others will find their own devices trap and destroy them. We also understand from the Scriptures that we reap the kind of seed that we sow in the ground. What goes around, comes around! If we try to dig a pit for others or plan mischief, we will surely reap the evil thing we intended to do to them.

In our daily interactions, we have countless opportunities to embrace the powerful principle of refraining from “digging a pit” or “rolling a stone” for others. By decisively choosing to act with integrity, empathy, and generosity, we create a constructive ripple effect that uplifts those around us and significantly enhances our well-being. On the contrary, indulging in deceit, manipulation, or cruelty inevitably leads to our own decline. By committing to ethical conduct, we ensure not just the betterment of others but also secure our own success and fulfillment. Abimelech met his end when a stone struck him following his brutal execution of 70 men on that very same stone. When he was summoned to condemn Israel, the Moabites faced a powerful curse from Balaam, the hired diviner. Haman’s fate was sealed on the gallows he constructed for Mordecai, a striking testament to poetic justice. Dogs rightfully licked Ahab’s blood in the exact location where the injustice against Naboth took place, illustrating a clear act of divine retribution. Furthermore, the conspirators who conspired against Daniel suffered a horrific end, being torn apart by the lions they had intended to use against him. It is a devious waste of energy plotting schemes that ultimately only harm those who plotted them. When we throw the ball to the wall, it returns to us. God clearly sees how men treat others, and He promises to bring similar pain and trouble down on them for doing it. Our actions, good or bad, often come back to us. It’s a call to live with integrity and intention, to build and uplift rather than destroy.

Beloved, anyone who digs a pit for you will inherit their own pit. If you have enemies, stand strong. The Lord of Glory is always watchful and ready. When the wicked conspire against you, God will turn their schemes back upon themselves. You must not join those who look for the downfall of others or seek to destroy your fellows. Live thoughtfully and consider the outcomes of your actions, choosing paths of honesty and kindness. Do not avenge yourself, for the Lord is against it and will do much better Himself. In this season, your adversary will make a mistake, and their evil plans will choke them. You will not fall victim to their evil plans. Your enemies will never win the battle over your life. God is stepping in right now. Whoever wants to experience genuine and complete freedom must come to Jesus Christ. He is the one who can grant all-around freedom: physically, spiritually, and mentally. Decide today to surrender all that concerns you to Him and commit to living according to His Will, and you will begin to experience the total freedom He gives. Embrace the conviction that you are valuable and far from being wasted by your enemies. This season, God will let the enemy inherit their evil plans to accelerate your promotion! Trust God to protect you and punish your enemies. Remember, your enemy shall be trapped by any trap they set for you, they shall fall into their own pit.

O Lord, deliver me from every evil trap of the enemy against my life, family, and destiny. Let the enemy fall into their trap in Jesus’ Name.
