Psalm 5:12(KJV)
For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favor wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
In Psalm 5, David, an aged man who had lost his throne, prayed to God for help when his son Absalom rose to power and the people turned against him. Through a quick chain of events, David was able to return to his throne, while Absalom met his demise while fleeing. This event highlights the concept of favor, defined as an act of kindness beyond what is due or usual. In this case, the favor was bestowed upon David because of his obedience to God and his relationship with Him, not based on his personality, looks, or background. As children of God, we are meant to enjoy supernatural favor, which means experiencing pleasure from a show of preferential treatment beyond explanation by natural laws. This favor is not based on our merit but on our faith in God and our relationship with Him. Once we become children of God, opportunities in life become natural and effortless, and we can enjoy God’s supernatural favor.
Favor is one of the mystery virtues of the Kingdom and is available to every child of God. Divine favor will distinguish us amongst many, and we will stand out without being crushed. When the oil of favor is upon us, we will enjoy open heavens irrespective of our circumstances. Proverbs 8:35 says, “For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the Lord.” When we put God first and obey His commands, we will find life, opening the door for His favor. As we seek God daily, always know that we have an advantage. The righteous are positioned for the blessing, and we are to keep reminding ourselves that God controls our destiny. Psalm 84:11 says, “For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.” The Word of God promises that no good thing will He withhold from those who walk blamelessly before Him. Know that God is more than willing to bless His true children with favor and honor. However, we must serve Him faithfully.
Beloved, be wise and seek God faithfully to bless and surround you with favor. Maintain personal fellowship and intimacy with God in order to enjoy His Favor and become what He created you to be on earth. Live a life pleasing to the One who has the heart of those meant to favor you. Understand that God wants to pour His favor and honor on you. He promises that no good thing will He withhold from those who walk blamelessly before Him. Receive His favor, blessing, and protection today. The favor of God shall single you out for special attention. There will be no more delay! Let Him be your sun and shield as you advance in victory all day! He wants to be your shield of protection against every enemy and the light that directs your path. For His ways are higher than your ways. He is doing more extraordinary and gigantic things in and through your life for His Glory than you could ever see. Step out in faith and enjoy the privileges God has prepared for you! Ask God to shower you with favor at the place of prayer and fasting. It is your appointed time to be remembered for your favor!
O Lord, arise and clothe me with the garment of favor; meet me with Your Favor everywhere I go in Jesus’ Name.
