Psalms 91:5(AMP)
You will not be afraid of the terror of night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day.
It is evident from Scripture that the devil is not as powerful as many thinks, but his strength is in his devices, traps, and wiles. Thus, the traps he sets only destroy those he catches. One of the traps at his disposal is fear; he uses fear to overwhelm and eliminate the children of God. He introduces fear, and when it matures, disaster and calamity arrive. Fear is a magnet and an attraction of destruction. Living in fear only gives the devil so much attention, thereby empowering him to rule over our life and destiny. That is, whatever or whoever we fear controls us. The moment we begin to fear the devil or his agents, we drift into bondage and limitation. Anytime we surrender to fear is to give in to torment. The spirit of fear arrest progress and paralyze actions. Job said in Job 3:25, “For the thing which I greatly fear comes upon me, And that of which I am afraid has come upon me.” Fear is an attraction of destruction. The things that we fear in life more than often happen to us. So, it is not pleasant for the children of God to fear.
Fear belongs to the children of the devil, and as believers in Christ, we have no reason to be afraid of anything. The good news is that God is Superior to any fear and has control over every storm! Even the strongest hurricane, troubles, or attacks are subject to His Authority. Proverbs 3:25-26 says, “Do not be afraid of sudden fear Nor of the storm of the wicked when it comes [since you will be blameless]; For the Lord will be your confidence, firm and strong, And will keep your foot from being caught [in a trap].” With God as our confidence and strength, irrespective of what is happening around us, we have no cause to panic. We are to be bold as a lion. Those of us who have surrendered our lives to Jesus Christ can say with all boldness that we shall not be afraid. We can’t be born-again Christians and still live in fear. Then we don’t know who we are serving because living in fear of anything while serving God is an abomination. The Scripture says God will keep our feet from being caught in the trap of fear. So, if we are sure of our salvation but still live in fear, we are likely ignorant of who we are in Christ. Romans 8:14-15 says, “For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading again to fear [of God’s judgment], but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons [the Spirit producing sonship] by which we [joyfully] cry, “Abba! Father!” Children of God have the Spirit of God, and Jesus said we would receive power after the Holy Ghost comes upon us. Since we have received power, we should not be afraid. His Power in us is more than any power that comes against us.
Beloved, be not afraid of the terror of night, nor of the arrow that flies by day. For God has given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall harm you. Refuse to fear! God is your refuge and your present help in the time of trouble. With this promise, you have no cause to be afraid. Do everything you can to give no place to the devil through fear. Instead, build your faith by studying the Word of God, for faith brings preservation while fear facilitates destruction. Despite the storms of life, your confidence in God is a guarantee of your protection and security. Today, meditate on the Promises of God. Meditate on God’s Truth(the Word of God) and speak His Truth which sets you free! Believe in God’s Word and His ability to deliver you. Surround yourself in God’s love and let Him lead you into victory as you close the door on fear. By the mantle of God upon my life, I prophesy your total escape from every satanic trap that has entangled your life and destiny in Jesus’ Name. I pray that whatever will overwhelm your faith and cause you to panic, the Lord will not allow such to happen to you in Jesus’ Name. Remember, God loves you, and He will be right there with you; He will keep you safe and sound.
O Lord, thank You for giving me a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. Help me build my faith, ignoring anything that brings fear, panic, and anxiety in Jesus’ Name.
