Finish Well and Strong!

Hebrews 12:1(KJV)
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
In our anchored Scripture, the Christian life is compared to a race. From time to time in the rigorous journey of life, we sometimes find ourselves in a state of tiredness and confusion. At such times, the Holy Spirit admonishes us to run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. We are encouraged to fix our eyes on the perfect example of the Lord Jesus Christ who overcame life’s toughest obstacles. As it is written in 1 Peter 2:21 “For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:” Our faith depends on Jesus from the very start of our race of life until the end. The Christian race requires great commitment and focus, but has one great reward that none other can offer.
In our Christian life, we are called to remove anything that hinders us from running the race that God has set before us. Looking unto other gods and human systems for forgiveness, deliverance, healing and salvation has brought untold hardship and losses to many. Even looking unto great men and women who are successful in life has resulted in great disappointment, sorrow and pain in people’s lives. As a matter of fact, this has been a major cause of failure in the life of several people. While human beings are prone to failure, there is no failure or disappointment in Jesus. Looking unto Jesus can only increase our faith and uplift us spiritually and physically. What’s happened in our past is not nearly as important as what is in our future. Where we’re going is much more significant than where we’ve been. But if we stay focused on the past, we’ll get stuck where we are. This is the reason a lot of people don’t have joy or enthusiasm for life. They’re dragging around all of this negative baggage from the past. Life is too short to live that way.
Beloved, start every morning fresh and new, letting go of the disappointments, the setbacks from yesterday. You are not create to carry around all that baggage. Let it go and move forward in the life! Boldly let go of the sin that entangles your life, distorts your vision, enlarges your doubts and robs you of your spiritual vitality and stamina. Be patient and focus, keep looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith. That is your goal and finish line! Be determined that nothing is going to hinder you from fulfilling God’s plan and purpose for your life. Run the race of faith and run to win the prize! Finish well and strong!
O LORD, grant me the grace to finishing my Christian race well keeping the faith in Jesus’ Name.
