Colossians 3:17(KJV)
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Apostle Paul’s instruction to be thankful is astonishing when we consider that he wrote this letter from prison. He could have given up the ministry work or bitter but instead admonished us to do all in the Name of Jesus and give thanks to the Father. As children of God, whatever we do, we are to dedicate it to God and be sure to thank God the Father. Our actions or words should always say, “Thank You, God! It’s imperative that we showcase our gratitude in all our actions. We should be grateful for God’s grace and love demonstrated for us in the gift of His Son, Jesus. Doing all in the Name of the Lord means when others complain, we give thanks. When others hold grudges, we offer forgiveness. When others fuel hatred, we breathe out love, and when there’s a dispute, we uphold peace.
We understand from the Scriptures that thanksgiving is an act of appreciation or showing gratitude to God for something received from Him or for what He has done. Giving thanks is the most distinctive mark of a true believer, for it is written in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Thanksgiving is one of the great secrets of life and the cheapest way to live. Those who give thanks do not need to ask, neither do they beg they call(John 11:41-44). We need the kind of Spirit of thanksgiving that operated in Jesus so that before every obstacle of life, we can employ that Anointing that breaks the prison gates and brings the dead out of the grave. Our tongues are not meant to enjoy meals only but to praise our Maker while we have breath. As we enter a new month and season, let us be thankful to God in all we do. Our lives should please God, doing all things in His Name. When we are genuinely committed to doing all in the Name of Jesus and giving thanks to God, what consumes others cannot devour us. Jeremiah 30:19 says, “Then out of them shall proceed thanksgiving. And the voice of those who make merry; I will multiply them, and they shall not diminish; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.” As we give thanks to God, we will experience the tangibility of this word in our lives. Jesus gave thanks and saw an increase, the same way God will multiply anything we are thankful for.
Beloved, choose to have an attitude of thankfulness to march into your blessing. You cannot be great until you are thankful. Working hard does not determine how successful you will be, for no man prevails by strength. Only those grateful to God receive His Grace and Favor. Be thankful always for who God is, His mighty works, and what He is about to do. When you give thanks for what He did yesterday, you will compel Him to act today. BE THANKFUL, COUNTING YOUR BLESSINGS AND NAMING THEM ONE BY ONE IN THIS SEASON and ALWAYS! No matter what you are going through right now, there is always something for you to be appreciative and praiseful. Trust in God, give Him thanks, and you will see His salvation. Today, rather than complaining, view every challenge you encounter as an opportunity to grow and improve. With a positive and proactive attitude, you can overcome any obstacle that comes your way. Serve God well and be thankful in all things. Remember, to have a successful year, always be thankful for everything.
O Lord, I thank and praise You for Your unfailing and infinite love, help me do everything in the Name of the Lord in Jesus’ Name.
