God Has Given Us All Things

2 Peter 1:3 (KJV)

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

This Scripture reveals that God has already given us all we need for our life. Through His divine power and our growing knowledge of Him, we receive everything required for a godly life. This includes wisdom, strength, guidance, and even the fruits of the Spirit; our relationship with God is the source of our spiritual nourishment and growth. We are prepared for anything, all the opportunities, information, and relationships that have already been given to us through knowing God. We have been given divine power, which is the very nature of God to be blessed. One great benefit unrestricted to those with God as their Refuge is that the help they need will never be late. Jesus Christ has called us to glory and virtue, for without Christ, we can do nothing, but we can do all things through Christ, Who strengthens and provides us with His divine power. We have been called, chosen, redeemed, and accepted not because of our merit but because of His glory, goodness, virtue, and grace. We are destined to share in His glory and to be clothed in His righteousness as confident children of God and joint heirs with Christ.

Embracing a fully persuaded life, a life filled with conviction and faith, means anchoring our trust in the Word of God—more specifically, in the beautiful Promises of God. The promises of God are exceedingly great and precious because they are more significant than any problem we will ever face, and they are precious because they’re the only thing we’ve got. Therefore, they are the most valuable thing we have within our reach. Realizing that we are fully equipped to lead a godly life is comforting. This provision comes through our relationship with God and our growing understanding of His character; His glory and goodness are the foundation of our calling. We can trust that whatever we face, God has already provided the strength, wisdom, and resources needed to overcome it. He gave us the desire and the ability and equipped us with gifts and talents. No dream is too big, nor a challenge is too great. God’s promises are great, and they respond to our faith, so we won’t have to wonder and worry. However, we sometimes look at our needs or overwhelming circumstances and feel beaten before we start. We often don’t even recognize what’s been placed within us because, at first, it seems delicate. God told Jeremiah, “I am the Lord . . . Is anything too hard for me?” (Jeremiah 32:27). We are not permitted to carry Christ in us and live in lack. We are called to stand strong in our connection to Christ, refusing to be consumed by mockery. God has called us to embody virtue and glory, not to be weighed down by reproach and ridicule.
