God Hears The Righteous

Proverbs 15:29(KJV)

The Lord is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

Our anchored Scripture promises that God will hear our prayers if we seek to live uprightly in our walk with Him. When we refuse to compromise and devote ourselves to being consistently righteous to the best of our ability, God sees our hearts, hears our prayers, and answers us. In other words, only those in the right standing with God should expect answers to their prayers. The righteous have the right to pray and expect answers. It’s part of our heritage in Christ because God is faithful and has called us into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Psalm 34:15 says, “The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.” We clearly understand God’s attitude toward those who do His will. If we can obey God’s way, fear Him, and shun evil, He cherishes us. The eyes of God are always watching the righteous, and His ears are always listening for their prayers. There is never a moment when God takes His eyes off the uncompromised. He never slumbers nor never sleeps.

Prayer is a spiritual communication between man and God. When we receive Christ into our hearts, we become children of God and have the privilege of praying to God at any time about anything. There are benefits we get as righteous people which we never get or experience until we know who we are in Christ. Because He sees us as upright, we have a God-given right to pray and expect God to hear and answer us. The righteous are confident that their life pleases God, so they are bold in prayer to God, who will not close His Ears to their prayers. Abraham, Samuel, Elijah, and Jesus all lived righteously before God, and they all showed unwavering faith and great confidence in God, and their prayer lives produced phenomenal results. Paul also admonishes us to come boldly or confidently to the Throne of grace so that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in times of need. 1 Peter 3:12 says, “For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.” In other words, God’s Eyes are open to the righteous, and His Ears are wide open to their prayers. However, God is against those who do evil. John 9:31 says, “We know that God does not listen to sinners, but He does listen to the one who worships Him and does His will.” We should not deceive ourselves, for God does not listen to sinners. As long as our sins are intact, He will not listen to us. The only time He listens is when we repent our sins and ask Him for forgiveness.

Beloved, the Lord will only hear and answer the prayers of the righteous. God listens to the cry of His elect and responds positively to their requests, for the Good Shepherd only recognizes the voice of His sheep. As you live a righteous life, know that the eyes of God are always over you, and He hears your prayers. The righteous are at liberty to go to Him at all times and pour their heart desires before Him. So, enter into the Throne Room of Grace and pour out your heart before God this day, and as His Word says, He will not hide His Face from you. A well-liked hymn written by Irish poet Joseph Medlicott Scriven says, “O what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.” Take everything to Him in prayer, and do not carry the burden, pain, problem, or hardship. Praying without ceasing is the secret of winning in life because the intercession of the righteous is effective and powerful. Ecclesiastes 11:3 says, “if the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth.” Keep filling the clouds with your heartfelt prayers, and they will empty themselves upon your life. Today, have faith in God, hold on to Him and never give up! Remember, refuse to compromise, and God will answer your prayers.

O Lord, thank You for the knowledge that You hear me. Help me to be persistent in prayer in Jesus’ Name.
