God Is My Helper

Psalm 54:4 (KJV)

Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

Our anchor Scripture clearly states that the secret to triumphing is having God by our side as a Helper. It is impossible to achieve true success or victory without God. Therefore, we must boldly reject the notion of relying on our strength and ability if we are to triumph over life’s challenges. Only those who trust God receive His incredible help for sustenance. There are moments in our journey when we require a gentle reminder that the help of the Lord is eternal. Amidst the trials and tribulations of life, it’s important to remember that the help of the Lord never ceases. He is the beacon of hope, guiding us through the darkest storms, and the constant companion that never leaves our side. Whenever we feel overwhelmed, He is there to lighten our load and share our burdens. As long as we rely on His help and allow His Spirit to empower us, we can overcome any temptation and trial that comes our way. Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” God is our safe place to hide in times of need. When we are overwhelmed or in crisis, He stands ready to help.

As children of God, we must come to terms with the truth that the Almighty God is the Help that is very much present in the time of need. Psalm 50:15 says, “And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.” Our God can help us in all situations; if He will not help us, nobody else can. Like the saints of old, we are expected to build our confidence in the sure promises of God. In his affliction, King David said, “My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:2), thereby revealing the source of his confidence. God also promises His children never to leave or forsake them. The Bible says that even in the face of evil threats, we should not become fearful but remain confident, knowing that God will never fail us. Because of this sure promise of God, which can never fail, we shall confidently say that the Lord is our Helper, a confident and dependable help in times of trouble. God is not a man who should lie; His Promises are sure and tested! He will fulfill every one of His promises concerning our lives. If God be for us, who can be against us? Who is he that will harm us if ye are followers of that which is good? Our confidence rests absolutely upon the promises of God. God will always be there for His children as a reliable Father and Friend against all evil attacks. We are called to fear not, for Christ has won the final victory.

Beloved, God is your very present Help in times of need. If the Almighty God cannot help you in your adversity, no man or the devil can help you, so look up to God for your help. Look absolutely to God as your Source and not on your wisdom, personal abilities, or connections. Refrain from looking to man for help, that help will always fail or come with challenging conditions. Do not worry; surrender your troubles to Him and watch Him move into action. Depend on God wholly for His Help in all areas of your life. God wants to show Himself strong on your behalf, and He is always the Very Present Help to get you out of whatever situation or trouble you find yourself in. As you TRUST Him to be your only source of help, He will arise and help you. Surrender to Him today and let the peace that He gives take over. And He will help you like king Asa and renew your strength (like Elijah) to run and not to be weary. Make an effort to seek the help of God, and you will indeed find His Help in your situation. Remember, the Lord of Hosts is still with you; the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is your Refuge.

O Lord, I look to You alone for help, send Your Help in times of need in Jesus’ Name.
