Galatians 6:7-8(KJV)
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
It is very important to understand sowing and reaping. Our anchor scripture makes us to clearly understand that God cannot be mocked, anything you sow on this planet you will also reap. Don’t expect to reap righteousness if you are continuously sowing sin or reap corn when you sow carrot. You are known by your fruit, no matter what you proclaim.
What seed are you sowing and what fruit are you producing? Hosea 10:12 says “Sow with a view to righteousness [that righteousness, like seed, may germinate]; Reap in accordance with mercy and lovingkindness. Break up your uncultivated ground, For it is time to seek and search diligently for the Lord [and to long for His blessing] Until He comes to rain righteousness and His gift of salvation on you.” What a beautiful challenge! Even more beautiful is the promise that God will help us break up the uncultivated ground as we seek and diligently search for Him. Break up your sin-hardened ground, sow seeds of righteous behavior, reap the fruit of God’s unfailing love and He will pour out His blessings and righteousness on you as you pursue His Righteousness.
Giving is always God’s way out! Whenever there’s a need, He plants seed! In fact, in Mark 4, Jesus compares the entire Kingdom of God to a Seed. Just think about the importance of seeds for a moment. Every living thing on this earth came from a seed. You came from a seed. Then you were born again from the seed of God’s Word. Jesus Himself was The Seed planted by God. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. God sowed Jesus in sacrifice so that we have everlasting life. So, when the devil puts you under pressure, go to Jesus and let Him tell you how and where to plant. If you’ll do it, that seed will grow up until it breaks the powers of darkness and lack. It will release you from the pressure the devil’s been putting on you.
Beloved, don’t be discouraged in your giving! Luke 6:38 says “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. Plant your time. Plant your money. Plant the clothes off your back. Plant words of encouragement. Plant positive words, for many of us are reaping today what we said yesterday. Plant some seeds today. The prophet Elijah said to the woman of Zarephath give me to eat first and as she gave she had more than enough. God’s Word functions by sowing and reaping. That little is all you need to jump start the miracle of God in your life. Psalm 126:5-6 says “They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” On this Boxing Day sow a seed in the life of someone. God bless you!
Father, help your children to sow good seeds and produce righteous fruit for Your Kingdom in Jesus’ Name.
