God Is Not Unrighteous

Hebrews 6:10 (KJV)

For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Our anchored Scripture makes it clear that God can never forget our contributions to the progress of His Kingdom. He will ensure that we receive proper recognition and reward for our righteous deeds. We must realize that it is a blessing to be used by God. God bestows rewards upon individuals who have faith in Jesus. When we align our lives with God’s will, He acknowledges our efforts and pledges to recompense us based on our actions. God compensates those who steadfastly adhere to Him for their righteous deeds. Apostle Paul wrote in Galatians 6:9, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” In other words, we shall reap every good or righteous work in due season. Our God is the Greatest Giver of rewards. Ephesians 6:8 says, “Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.” Our God is not partial, but He is a perfect and just God who sees our works and has not forgotten what we have done in our service to Him and our continuous help to others.

We serve a God who does not forsake nor forget His people. He is always there for us no matter the circumstance or situation of life. It is part of His Nature to call our deeds into remembrance for adequate compensation. It is not in the character of God to forget anything like we humans do, for He is the All-knowing God. It is written in Acts 10:31, “And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.” God did not just remember Cornelius’ prayers; all his acts of charity and his Christian life changed forever. It was through him that the Gospel was preached to the Gentiles. When God remembers His children, their situation immediately changes for the better, as happened to Cornelius. More importantly, God considers it unrighteous to forget our labor of love in His Vineyard, which is why He rewarded the midwives in Egypt with houses (Exodus 1:17- 21). Colossians 3:23 says, “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.” When Obed-Edom accommodated the ark of God in his house, the Great Rewarder blessed him so much within three months to the envy of the wealthy king David (2 Samuel 6:10-12).

Beloved, wherever you find yourself, do something useful for God and you are sure to receive divine elevation as a gracious gift from Him in return, for He never forgets His people’s labor of love. He knows about your tears in intercession; your passion in prayer for lost souls. He’s aware of all your financial contributions to the spread of the Gospel, and your personal evangelical efforts to win souls for Christ. He’s aware of all the sacrifices you’ve made for His Name’s sake; the time, money, family, friends and relationships you gave up for Him! He hasn’t forgotten, He will graciously compensate you. Today, serve Him with the best of your ability, He will not forget your efforts when you diligently serve Him by serving others. Do not be troubled or disheartened rather be encouraged, and keep up your good work for God sees your work on His behalf. Don’t let the delay discourage you. Put patience to work for the Word of God guarantees your reward. Don’t let the lack of praise and rewards distract you from trusting that God loves you and is for you. Remember, moving forward and have faith that you will receive what has been promised at the perfect time.

O Lord, with an unwavering commitment, I give my all for Your Kingdom’s advancement in Jesus’ Name.
