God Is Trustworthy

Nahum 1:7(KJV)

The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

The Prophet Nahum had been declaring the fierceness of God’s anger, wrath, and fury that He would pour out on the city of Nineveh if they refused to repent and turn from their wicked ways. Amid speaking judgment, our anchored Scripture gives us hope. Our God is good; He is our shelter in the time of storms of life, and through Christ Jesus, we come boldly to His throne of grace and mercy for the help we need in our time of trouble. Complete reliance on God is vital in our walk with Him, for He has always proved trustworthy. To experience exploits in our lives, we must trust God in all circumstances. Involving Him in planning our lives makes us different from the rest. Only with God’s help can the seemingly impossible take place. God’s image as a God of protection and safety has comforted His children through difficult times and difficult days. Psalm 144:2 says, “My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.” The Lord preserves His people. He is our strength and stronghold where we can find refuge and peace. He takes note of those who trust in Him and honors their trust in being a strong tower for them in the day of trouble.

In life, the Almighty God who gives us great wisdom is wonderful in counsel and excellent in His working. Therefore, as His children, we have no option but to trust in Him in all things. However, trusting and resting on our own will and abilities will result in regret and gross disappointment. We often wonder why God let us endure bad and challenging times. But when faced with life’s challenges, we must understand that we cannot find help from any source but God. Job 13:15 says, “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.”  In our affliction, let’s make our way right before Him and trust Him, and He will show up to our rescue. God never fails to guide those who trust Him; in the most challenging times, God remains our strength. Even when we face terrible suffering, we know God can deliver us; however, we must still trust Him despite our circumstances or if He chooses not to. Only by holding the hand of our Father in the valley can we endure to see the light of the mountaintop ahead. When Abraham trusted God, the lamb for the sacrifice was already on the top of the mountain(Genesis 22:1-8). What we are looking for is already supplied, but the challenge is that we have refused to trust God. Some blessings and provisions will only be on the mountaintop of trust and obedience. As we trust Him, eventually, everything works together to make something fantastic!

Beloved, do not be deceived. God knows those who trust in Him and not their own ability. Keep trusting in Him, and He will come and help you on the day of trouble. It pays to trust God at all times. Trust in the Lord with your all; your expectations will not be cut off. You may not understand what is happening around you, but I encourage you to hang in there, and God will certainly come through for you. Surrendering your desires to God is not easy, and His wisdom can be hard to understand in challenging moments. But choose to draw near Him and trust that He will guide you. Make up your mind to make God the first, the last, and final consideration of your life. There is a lot to gain from always asking God for advice. If you want to win in every area of your life, do not lean on your understanding. Never assume that you know what to do, where to go, or who is anything; instead, trust in God, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path. Today, forget about all your negative situations and trust Him. Begin to remember all that God has done for you in the past and praise Him like never before. As you acknowledge Him, He will direct your path and make a way in the Red Sea. Load your mind with the word of God. Think often about His Word and focus on Jesus. Involve God in your thoughts and plans; your life will never be the same. Trust Him for direction before you take any step in life. God is still in control. Despite how distant He appears; He is right in the middle of your situation to bring you out. Remember, the enemy will attack the foundation of your trust in God by attacking your heart with the fiery arrow of doubt but give me no chance.

O Lord, thank You for Your Word. I receive the grace to trust You always in Jesus’ Name.
