Genesis 6:8(KJV):
But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
Throughout the Bible, God showed Himself gracious in His dealings with humanity. He exempted and distinguished Noah and his family from the world. The state of man during Noah’s lifetime had fallen away from the beautiful beginning in the Garden of Eden. The sinful nature of the people deeply saddened God, who created them. With all the human wickedness, Noah was still a righteous man, blameless, and he walked faithfully with God and God found Noah loyal to Him and used him and his family to bless and provide the world with a future. According to the Bible, Noah found grace in the Lord’s eyes when He wanted to destroy the world. God’s Grace and Favor made way for Noah and his family when others were sinking and dying; Noah and his family were sailing on that same flood, lifted up and preserved. God’s favor was responsible for Noah’s appointment into the exceptional assignment that led to his entire family surviving the flood. Although the application of God’s Grace can be selective, like in Noah’s case, it is available to all, especially those dedicated to God.
Favor is one of the mystery virtues of the Kingdom, and it is available to the obedient and dedicated. It is a widely accepted belief that God favors those dedicated to Him. In other words, the favor of God is the tangible evidence that a person has the approval of the Lord. God shows grace to the ones who delight in, connect with, and give honor to Him. Psalm 5:12 says, “For you bless the righteous, O Lord; you cover him with favor as with a shield.” God is committed to favoring the righteous. The favor of God is a reality. Thousands have tried, tested, and proved that it is more than a tame doctrine or a boring theory. Possessing divine favor is the key to distinguishing ourselves from others and achieving success in all aspects of life. Divine favor spares the children of God from experiencing the same calamities as the world. As believers, we need God’s grace at every point, whether in prosperity or adversity. Genesis 39:4 says, “And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.” When Joseph found favor in the sight of Potiphar, he ruled his house. Favor singled out Joseph and distinguished him. His character attracted and sustained God’s grace on him.
Beloved, there are things you can do to be favored by God. Today, take a bold decision by moving closer to God, and He will move closer to you as He blesses you. If you remain devoted to God and lead a righteous life, He will bestow blessings and shower you with favor. Be committed to covenant practices to attract God’s Favor. Finding favor with the Lord keeps your life and thoughts pure because you desire to please Him more than yourself. Live a life pleasing to the One who has the heart of those meant to favor you, and your life will never be the same in Jesus’ Name. As a favored child of God, know that He is with you and that nothing can happen to you apart from His good purpose. Where everyone else experiences disfavor, God will favor you. Study the Word of God and maintain personal fellowship and intimacy with God in order to enjoy His Favor and become what He created you to be on earth. Receive your uncommon favor now. Step out in faith and appreciate the privileges God has prepared for you! Remember, God will not treat the wicked and disobedient child the same way He treats the good and obedient child; the latter will always find life and enjoy the favor of God.
O LORD, let Your Favor shield me and all I have from any calamity in Jesus’ Name.
