Great Grace and Great Power

Acts 4:33 (KJV)

And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

In Acts 4, Peter and John faced arrest for healing and preaching in the Name of Jesus. Released with a stern warning to cease preaching, they returned to their fellow disciples and recounted their ordeal, praying together in unity. As they prayed, the place trembled, and they were filled with the Holy Spirit, empowered to boldly proclaim God’s Word. Their experience was not just about being filled with the Holy Ghost; it embodied power and great grace that enabled them to share the message of Jesus with fearless confidence. This Scripture underscores the apostles’ testimony of Jesus Christ’s resurrection and the grace manifest among them. As they received abundant grace, they demonstrated the gifts and great power of the Spirit, witnessing the Risen King, Jesus Christ. The grace they experienced allowed the apostles to perform many signs and wonders (Acts 5:12). Their bold declaration of Jesus’ resurrection, fueled by God’s extraordinary grace, led to the flourishing of the early church and a powerful witness to the Gospel. The strength of the apostles was not solely about physical might; it was about spiritual potency, reflecting Jesus’ promise in Acts 1:8: “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you.” They were not acting alone; they were vessels of the Holy Spirit, capable of extraordinary works and bold proclamations.

Power is essential for achieving anything in life. It takes power to prevail and win, to break free from captivity, and to accomplish the impossible. Power enables us to overcome obstacles and discover supernatural opportunities. One profound secret of power is grace. Great grace sponsors great power. While many know the basic truth that we are saved by grace, grace is so much more. It is real and powerful, providing the supernatural strength to make things happen! Grace binds our witness to Jesus’s resurrection; it is the love that compels us to share our hope. Grace is not only the reason for our salvation, but also the atmosphere in which the church flourishes. It softens hearts, empowers the weak, and fosters humility within the community. As Christians, we can boldly witness for Christ by relying on the Holy Spirit’s power for courage and strength. When we allow the Holy Spirit to work in us, we can share the message of Christ with boldness. Being a bold witness requires us to stand firm in our faith, unafraid to speak the truth despite opposition or persecution. We may face resistance just as the early disciples did from religious leaders and authorities. However, with the assurance that God is with us and that the Holy Spirit empowers us, we can proclaim the Gospel fearlessly. Allowing the Holy Spirit to fill us with grace empowers us to witness effectively, live authentically, and love radically. Embracing the power of the Holy Spirit and the grace of our Savior equips us to become vibrant witnesses, reflecting the love of Christ to a world longing for hope and truth.

Beloved, to access a level of power beyond anything you’ve ever experienced, approach the Throne of Grace with boldness in prayer. Depend on God’s grace every single day, both in your personal challenges and in your mission to share the Gospel. Just as the apostles received extraordinary power after prayer, God desires His children to walk in that same daily empowerment. Be filled with the Holy Spirit each day, this is your right! It’s essential to cultivate a desire for the strength to overcome the devil. Through the Power of Jesus’ Resurrection, you are transitioning from the natural to the supernatural; a life of mere existence is not for you. When God’s grace is evident in your life, you are destined for greatness. You have been endowed with abundant grace; now is the time to showcase the incredible power of the Holy Spirit to the world! Let your words and deeds reflect Christ’s teachings, enabling others to see His light shining through you. Remember, resurrection signifies your transition from death to life, from sickness to health, and from failure to breakthrough.

O LORD, I seek Your power and grace to triumph in life and fulfill my destiny. Give me boldness to testify to Your resurrection and life in Jesus’ Name.
