He Has Done Great Things

Isaiah 12:4-5(AMP)

And in that day you will say, “Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name [in prayer]. Make His deeds known among the peoples [of the earth]; Proclaim [to them] that His name is exalted!” Sing praises to the Lord, for He has done excellent and glorious things; Let this be known throughout the earth.

Thanksgiving is a very vital activity for every child of God. For our lives to experience the blessings of the Lord on a continuous basis, we need to thank Him. A lifestyle of thanksgiving makes a lot of difference in our lives. It is the door that ushers us into God’s blessings. Through thanksgiving, lost glory is restored, as was the case with king Nebuchadnezzar(Daniel 4:34-37). When we acknowledge Him as the source of everything we have achieved in life, He is committed to doing more and preserving all the Blessings. Psalm 105:1 says “O give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the people.” We are to make known of His wonderful works. The habit of not forgetting what God had done in our lives in the past encourages us to draw closer to Him, tell others about what He has done for us, show His glory to others and offer our best in service to Him.

God gives new songs to His children and He expects us to sing these songs when there is a new occasion of triumph. Each time we experience His intervention or mighty works for instance salvation, deliverance, healing, divine provision and breakthrough, preservation we are to joyfully sing to Him. It is written in Psalm 98:1 “O sing to the Lord a new song, For He has done marvelous and wonderful things; His right hand and His holy arm have [b]gained the victory for Him.” A new song is a product of God’s visitation. It is the product of divine joy birthed by God’s wonderful works among mortals. In other words, people who appreciate the priceless work of God sing new songs of praise to Him. In Exodus 15:21, Miriam, Moses’ sister, sang back to the joyous congregation, saying, “Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.” In Psalm 40:3, David said “He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear [with great reverence] And will trust confidently in the LORD.” David, the greatest king Israel ever had, composed several new songs for the Lord throughout his lifetime. He never lost any battle and God’s Presence was mighty in his life because he was also singing a new song to the Lord. When God chose Mary, blessed and highly favored her among all women, Mary’s response in appreciation of Heaven’s kind gesture was a new song.

Beloved, learn to praise and give thanks to God at all times and in all things. Sing to Him, sing new songs of praise to Him. Don’t lose the wonder of God’s works. Don’t spend life waiting for the next big thing. Instead, thank God for the things He’s done in your life. He has never ceased to be faithful and kind. If it had not been for the Lord on your side, the devil would have destroyed you. You are who you are in Christ because of the goodness of God. Before complaining about your situation, the next time, take a critical look at another man’s situation and you will realize that you have enjoyed the goodness of the Lord. No matter how challenging your situation or circumstance might be, always remember God’s faithfulness and thank Him for past blessings. Ensure that this God, who is Mighty and Merciful, is your ally and you will always have songs of triumph to sing. As you sing a new song, Heaven shall open the Book of Remembrance concerning you, favor you and destroy the Goliath troubling your destiny in Jesus’ Name. Today, keep your heart pure so that your joy can be full. Remember, those who come before God with thanksgiving can never live by the mercy of men.

O Lord, thank You for Your wondrous works in my life, baptize me with favor and new songs in Jesus’ Name.
