Hold Fast To Integrity

Job 2:3(KJV)

And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.

The Book of Job introduces an exceptionally prosperous man named Job, described as the most distinguished man among all the people of the East. At the root of Job’s greatness were godliness and integrity. The Lord said of Job to satan that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man who fears God and turns away from evil. With this knowledge, the devil comes to God and asks permission to do something against Job. Satan thought that by getting at Job in every part of his being, Job’s faith would be shaken and cause him to turn from his trust and confidence in God and curse Him to His face, as suggested by the wife. Even his friends rebuked him and assumed he must have offended God for him to suffer such terrible things, but Job maintained his integrity. Job is able to endure overwhelming loss without compromising his integrity. Although he lost his health, peace, rest, good night’s sleep, children, and wealth, he maintained his faithfulness through the worst circumstances of life.

Integrity is the unwavering commitment to honesty, steadfast moral principles, and upholding the fabric of our lives. It is the key to unlocking our destiny and the foundation of a triumphant existence. Acting with integrity means consistently doing what is right, irrespective of the consequences or whether anyone is observing. Like a beacon in the night, our integrity shines brightest in the face of adversity and immorality. Daniel 6:4 says, “Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.” Our lives count, but not without integrity. Therefore, know that our integrity speaks louder than our voice! Although costly, integrity comes with significant rewards, including divine support, protection from sin, inner peace, guidance, preservation of life, and generational blessings. On the other hand, dishonesty may provide instant gratification in the moment, but it will never last and has deadly consequences. Proverbs 20:17 says, “Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; But afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.”

Beloved, you need to demonstrate integrity in all aspects of your endeavors, including your speech, time management, finance, relationship with the opposite sex, keeping of promises, and paying of vows, because everything right begins and ends with God. Stand for the truth and live a life devoid of offense towards God and man. Integrity automatically confers God’s blessings on you and causes the Sun of righteousness to arise on your behalf, ushering you into supernatural dimensions. Avoid anyone with no integrity because if you surround yourself with the dishonest and those willing to cut corners to get ahead, you will find yourself enduring, accepting, and finally adopting their behavior. No matter what is happening in your life or what the world may be doing, you have to keep doing what is right. Finally, when you feel most tempted to indulge in self-destructive behavior, open the Bible, find inspiration in verses on integrity, and pray to God for His Guidance. Remember, the value of the trust others have in you goes beyond anything measured because it has its rewards.

O Lord, give me the grace to stand upright and blameless always. Help me hold fast to my integrity by not compromising with sin and sinners in Jesus’ Name.
