In His Name Is Help

Psalm 124:8(KJV)

Our help is in the name of the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.

Psalm 124 encourages us to depend on God; if we want to make it safely in life. It is evident that our help comes from the Lord, the Creator of Heaven and Earth. Our help comes from God, who neither sleeps nor slumbers. He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. The Help of God is superior, durable, dependable, and more reliable than the help of man or the hurt of the devil. Without God’s Help, man is hopeless and helpless, for God is our present help in trouble. Men may promise to help today but change their minds tomorrow, but when God helps us, we can go to sleep because that help is guaranteed. In Psalm 28:7, David said, “The LORD is my strength, and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.” When David encountered God’s strength and protection, He trusted in God to be his help in times of need. Our hearts rejoice when God is our Helper; we can’t see any defeat is not our portion.

With the help and presence of the living God, we can stand even when surrounded by enemies. Joseph, by God’s Help, prevailed against all wickedness. He trusted God and sought to know and do His Will through it all. He stands today as a beautiful example of God’s keeping and strengthening power in the heart of a man who believed in Him. Caleb said in Joshua 14:12…. “the LORD helping me, I will drive them out just as He said.” With the Lord helping us, we can conquer! Think of David, who fought many battles and never lost any. When the people wanted to see what Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego would become in the fire, God brought them back in glory to the shame of their accusers. The help of God was evident. Trust in God because His thoughts towards us are thoughts of peace to give us an expected end. 2 Chronicles 14:11-13 says, “And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord, thou art our God; let no man prevail against thee. So the Lord smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled. And Asa and the people that were with him pursued them unto Gerar: and the Ethiopians were overthrown, that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before the Lord, and before his host; and they carried away very much spoil.” The Lord gave Asa the help he needed to defeat his enemies. God shall preserve us from all evil as we trust Him. Psalms 108:13 says, “Through God, we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.” In this month and beyond, with the help of God, we will do mighty things, for God shall destroy every opposition for good in Jesus’ Mighty Name.

Beloved, earthly help is short-lived, but God’s Help is peaceful and long-lasting. God is always eager to help you. He loves you and doesn’t want you to endure your trials alone. Fear not, for God is with you. You might be going through some difficult times, and you are looking to family or friends for help, don’t look to any, for the help of man is useless and just an arm of flesh. Curse is any man who trusts man. Depend only on God for help; He will not forsake or leave you but take good care of you. God is available today to help and deliver you from all your troubles. He shall raise a voice for you to defend you and silence all opposing voices for your sake. You shall surely be victorious, for the LORD of hosts will take over your battle. Let God be your Helper by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord of your life and surrender all to Him. When He becomes your Helper, you can boldly say you will never be afraid of the devil and its devices. Today, trust in the Name of our Lord, and you will rise and stand firm. Remember, God steps into your matter to help only when you don’t know what next to do and where next to turn. God shall help you and your family in times of trouble in Jesus’ Name.

O LORD, give me the grace to look unto You daily for help in Jesus’ Name.
