Knowledge Is Powerful

Hosea 4:6(ESV)

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.

In our anchor Scripture, God reveals that His people are destroyed due to a lack of knowledge. Knowledge is so vital and powerful because it is a prime factor that controls the decision-making process and ultimately determines life and destiny. In other words, how much we know determines our ability to make the right decisions about a subject matter. The making of anyone is a function of what they know. That is why knowledge is power! Only those who know more become better, and to be informed is to be free and transformed. John 8:32 says, “and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” Since knowledge determines the course of our lives, it must be based on a sound and sure foundation. As believers, knowing God and His Word makes us immovable and unstoppable. Knowledge obtained from God’s Word is from the Maker of Heaven and Earth, who has seen all and knows all.

In this life, the knowledge needed to make proper decisions is available in the Word of God. Knowing more about God and His Word helps us make error-proof choices and decisions. Our dependence on worldly knowledge can lead to failure, but devoted knowledge guarantees success. The ignorance of the Word of God has led to the crash of many destinies. Proverbs 1:29-31 says that those who despise or detest knowledge do so to their own risk(paraphrase). Many people carry the Bible, but they don’t understand what the Bible means because of ignorance. Ignorance is the greatest enemy of the children of God. It is destructive and oppressive. The devil has kept the truth from many concerning who they really are in Christ. God’s people perish because they do not know who they are or the provision that belongs to them in God. When God’s people cannot comprehend that they are born into royalty, destruction is the end result. It is not because the devil is more powerful; but because they are ignorant of their rights and privileges in Christ. Isaiah 5:13 says, “Therefore my people go into exile for lack of knowledge; their honored men go hungry, and their multitude is parched with thirst.” Ignoramus has made the present generation live in captivity and be famished. Choosing to live in ignorance and reject knowledge paves the way for us to enter the pit of bondage. When there is a lack of knowledge, the struggle continues.

Beloved, nothing exposes a man to danger like lack of knowledge; to lack knowledge is defenseless because your preservation is at the mercy of what you know in this life. What you don’t know can kill you, and what you know can promote you and bring you before kings. Your possession is a product of your perception; anything that does not cross your mind can never cross your life. So, refuse to be ignorant because you cannot demand something you do not know about. Nothing is as powerful as what you seek for yourself. Today, make a conscious effort to seek knowledge and upgrade your mentality consistently. Give priority to God’s Word, and you will realize that you will spend far less time and effort reaching your goal in life. It is not a waste of time to undertake personal Bible studies at any time of the day or night. Be diligent and consciously study the Bible to know God more. As you begin to thirst for the knowledge of God’s Word, the wisdom of God will announce you to your world! You will be far above and not beneath. Let the thoughts of what you want and where you want to be in life fill your mind. Remember, the scope of your knowledge depends on the amount of learning you are willing to do.

O Lord, give me the grace to understand and be enlightened through Your Word in the Name of Jesus.
