Let Mercy Speak

Romans 9:16(KJV)

So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

Mercy is an act of kindness, compassion, or favor. It is something that gives evidence of divine favor and blessing. Mercy is part of God’s core nature. It defines His character by faithfully keeping His covenant, fulfilling His promises, and maintaining His relationship with His children. Our anchored Scripture reminds us that God’s mercy grants us salvation, not our desire or effort. In other words, people don’t save people; God does. God has worked out everything in our favor through Jesus Christ, His Son. He has shown us His mercy by granting us salvation, making it available for all humanity, irrespective of race, color, language, or culture. Isaiah 54:7 says, “For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.” By mercy, we enjoy forgiveness, and it helps us move forward in God. Just like God was at work in Israel’s story, He is also in our life’s stories. We can labor all our lives and make no headway, but when God shows mercy, we move from grass to grace in no time. Mercy can give us the same certificate as others but with a far better outcome than them.

The mercy of God is a profound expression of His love for humanity; it is so much that the natural mind cannot make sense of it. God loves us and wants to equip us to overcome this life despite our shortcomings, unworthiness, and unfaithfulness. By His mercies, we receive all things provided by His grace; healing, strength, supplies, and all we need. Lamentations 3:22 says, “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.” God’s mercy is new every morning, sure and constant, and because of His mercy, we have life. For a successful journey in life, God’s mercy is necessary. God’s mercy makes us stand out in our community, city, nation, family, or class above all others. Psalms103:4 says, “Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies.” God has kept and is still keeping us; He redeems our souls from destruction. It is of His mercy that our challenges have not overwhelmed us. Satan is not having a field day over our lives because of His mercies. Indeed, nothing stops us from being in a worse situation than we are now but for the mercies of God. That is why we should always give thanks in any condition we encounter.

Beloved, it is mercy that makes your case and portion different. No words can describe your life when mercy is speaking for you. You are alive today because God loves you. He crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies. So, stop complaining about your seeming unfortunate lots and losses and learn to thank God for His preserving mercies. Think about it, what hope is there for the dead? As long as you have life, you still have hope. It does not matter how low you are right now; the mercy of God will lift you higher than your dreams. Look away from yourself and receive what His mercy has accomplished for you in Christ by faith. It is not over until God says it is over, and God will never say it is over until He secures and establishes His interest in your life and destiny. Always apply for the grace of God at the place of prayer. Approach Him on the platform of His grace and mercy, and watch Him do incredible things in your lives. Open your heart today and receive His mercy. Learn to give and receive mercy regularly, and let it become your way of life. Today is the day of the Lord’s mercy for you and your loved ones in Jesus’ Name. Remember, life without mercy is full of struggle and profitless hard labor.

O Lord, thank You for Your mercy. By Your mercy, I receive a shift to a higher level in Jesus’ Name.
