Colossians 3:16(KJV)
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
From the anchored Scripture, Paul admonishes all to let the Word of Christ dwell in us richly in all wisdom which should stir an uncontainable joy within the depths of our souls. It is to live in us so that we can live it out in what we think, say, and disposition. Jesus in John 15:7 said, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” He told us to allow His Word, which is Alive and Powerful, to make its home within us. Jesus told us to spend time with the Word, meditate on it, fill our minds and mouths with it, and let it guide our every action. Oral Roberts once said that when the Word abides in us, when it’s alive and producing as it should, we can repeatedly hear it in our spirit. We must be full of the Word, such that when the pressures of life come, it is the Word that we have stored in that automatically comes out.
As Christians, our first step in drawing closer to God is to realize that we know God first in His Word. According to the Scriptures, the supernatural manifestations at creation combine the Spirit’s move and the Word’s revelation. In the beginning, was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Letting the Word dominate our thinking is to allow the Holy Spirit to have control over our minds. When we let the Word of God dwells in us, spiritual songs, psalms, and hymns fill our hearts. Psalm 119:11 says, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” The Word of Christ should direct every thought and decision that we make. We should strive to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ so that we can create and live out decisions that will glorify Him. When His Word dwells in us richly, Jesus is also richly dwelling in us! We become untouchable when we live our lives in favor of God’s Word, which is quick, powerful, prevailing, and sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). The devil cannot destroy us if we live according to the Word of God because the Word will fight for us even without we knowing it.
Beloved, make a quality decision to abide in the Word, and you’ll soon discover that the Word abides in you. Press into the Word, and you’ll make it through these dangerous days! Let the Word be an integral and permanent living force in all your heart, not just an outward performance or routine activity. Never take your eyes off God’s Word, be committed to paying keen attention. Keep it close to your heart, and the Glory of God will fill your heart. Live out this message in yourself, and help others live it out. Have the Word in your heart and mouth, and it’ll make you a wonder and give you a winning mentality. Speak per the written Word of God, not according to what is happening around you. Your world is in the Word; until you declare it positively, your glorious destiny will never manifest. Do not use negative words, even as a joke. Reading, hearing, believing, meditating on, and confessing the Word changes your confession and cancels satan’s evil plan. Remember, time spent meditating on the Word is time spent with God. Praise God!
O LORD, thank You for Your Word. I pray that Your Word will dwell in me forever in Jesus’ Name.
