Let Your Light Shine

Matthew 5:16(KJV)

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Jesus Christ, in His Sermon on the Mount, admonished the people to let their light shine so that men would see their good works and glorify the Father in Heaven. Light is confirmed to be one of the greatest assets of a spiritual man or woman. It is a powerful asset because light brings increase, growth, and promotion. We also understand that light is fuel for lift. Anywhere we get light, there we experience an elevation. When we access light, we shine and stand out in life, for light shines wherever there is darkness. Recognize that Jesus Christ is the light, and He wants to shine through us to illuminate the darkness in this world. As the light of the world through Jesus, we are to stand as God’s witnesses in words and lifestyle. 1 Thessalonians 5:5 says, “Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.”

God’s children are to stand out and be the light amidst the dark world in their thoughts, words, and deeds. As Christians, we are the tabernacle of God, and He has made us to a specification of righteousness and holiness. We have the light of Christ residing in us and are expected to shine and be a positive inspiration anywhere in the world. Romans 13:12 says, “The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.” By pushing away deeds of darkness and temptations of our flesh, we pull the light of Christ closer to us. Our light must shine as we show forth our good works. As believers and the carriers of light, we are to illuminate the world to bring the Good News to the lost, be a blessing, offer solutions to problems, impact the world, and take over territories for Jesus. We must be set apart from the world, its corrupt system, ungodly associations, partnerships, and compromise. 1 Peter 2:12 says, “Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.”

Beloved, shine anywhere you stand. Wherever you find yourself shine so that praise can come to your Father in Heaven. By your actions, let people glorify our Creator. Be an outstanding child of God. If you don’t want to be an excellent Christian, please be exceptional for God, for anything done for the glory of God will lead to rewards in this life and the life to come. Walk as a child of light and separate yourself from every form of worldliness. Seek first the Kingdom of God, and you will be like a city on a hill, unable to be hidden. As you practice clothing yourself with the armor of light, continue to make a daily effort to live close to God. As the light in this dark world, make an impact like Jesus, who went about doing good. Let your light shine so that men will see your good works and glorify your Father in Heaven. Shine your light to clear darkness. Never join them in being worried and confused. Surrender your life to God today and allow Him to take charge of everything that concerns you. Allow the Word of God to change who you are to who you are meant to be, for the entrance of the Word is the doorway to light. Remember, when you access the Word, light comes, and when the light comes, darkness checks out.

O Lord, thank You for a new week. Let my light continuously shine in this dark world in Jesus’ Name.
