Live By Faith

Galatians 3:11 (KJV)

But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

The Scriptures have established that the righteous shall live by his faith. Thus, faith is not negotiable if the upright must survive the battles of life. In this life, there is only one option for the righteous: to live by his faith. Faith is a critical necessity for the child of God. For this reason, our faith must be kept healthy and alive at all times and costs. Faith is essential to the life of the just, and the Word is crucial to faith. That is, the Word of God fuels our faith to receive what is ours. It is faith in the Word that produces power. As Christians, our salvation is by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9), and we walk in faith(2 Corinthians 5:7), and only by faith in Christ are we made righteous (Romans 5:19). Our faith puts us in charge of everything that charges against our faith in God. Faith does not prevent confrontations or hostilities but empowers us to overcome them arduously and dwell in victory. It is written in Hebrews 11:33-34 that through faith, the elders subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, and escaped the sword. Ephesians 6:16 says, “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.” Therefore, faith is the key to daily victorious living.

The Christian life is a profession of faith. And just like any profession in life, we must understand how it works. The doctor must understand medicine in great detail to be successful; likewise, the Christian must understand how faith works to be successful in the Christian life. Building our faith is a lifetime task and the wisest investment we can make in our spiritual adventure. As believers, we must grow from faith to faith, for we know God is not pleased with anyone who draws back from their faith. Some pull out from everything, forgetting that the upright shall live by faith. They draw back from what they expected into destruction and do not inherit the promise. However, we must learn to step out in faith, move out of our comfort zone, and take chances. It is significant to recognize that everything in redemption belongs to us, but only what we believe is released. It is because any truth of the Scriptures we receive and have confidence in is what commits God to empower us to realize it. Faith is the answer to the breakthroughs we desire; without faith, it is impossible to please God and receive from Him. Know that nothing of value is free. We must, therefore, pay the price to build our faith and labor to destroy unbelief through a commitment to the continuous study of God’s Word. Doing what is required to strengthen our faith for maximum impact is worth it.

Beloved, walk by faith and not by sight. With God, all things are possible but will only perform to the measure of your belief. Your expectation determines what you get. Your faith in God makes it possible for you to enjoy the great promise of God’s unfailing protection and goodness. Survival in dangerous times requires faith as a weapon. So, develop your faith not only for the proof of spirituality but for guaranteeing your security. It is faith that makes you fit to survive every attack of the enemy. Any challenge or confrontation that arises against you is not evidence of a lack of faith, but it is bowing for defeat that is evidence of a lack of belief. Refuse to be afraid of the battles of life and engage your faith and the Word of God in the battles confronting you. Today, study the Word of God daily and trust God for insights. Guard your faith because the devil knows that your faith equals your life. Remember, faith can exempt any man from the horrors of life, deflate every pressure, and bring us to the realm of divine pleasure.

O Lord, give me the grace to live by faith by taking faith-based actions in Jesus’ Name.
